𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆'𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱: 𝑻𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒖 🩰

The French word Tendu means "stretched." In ballet, a tendu is performed by sliding the foot along the floor until the leg is fully extended and the toes are pointed, while keeping contact with the floor.

Although it looks simple, tendu is one of the most important movements in ballet, helping dancers develop:
• Strong, pointed feet
• Correct leg alignment
• Balance and control
• Beautiful technique

Few names in ballet are as iconic as Anna Pavlova. Born in Russia in 1881, Pavlova became one of the world's most celebrated ballerinas, captivating audiences with her grace, artistry and emotional performances. She is best remembered for her unforgettable solo, The Dying Swan, a performance that remains one of the most famous pieces in ballet history.

What made Anna Pavlova truly remarkable was her belief that ballet should be shared with everyone. She travelled extensively around the world, bringing the beauty of ballet to countries that had never experienced it before and inspiring generations of dancers to follow their dreams.

Her legacy reminds us that ballet is not just about technique, it's about storytelling, passion and the ability to move people through dance.

The word Arabesque comes from French and is synonymous with elegance, balance and artistry.

One of the most iconic and beautiful positions in ballet, an Arabesque is performed by standing on one leg while extending the other leg gracefully behind the body.

Although it appears effortless, a beautiful arabesque requires:
• Strength and control
• Balance and stability
• Flexibility and extension
• Graceful posture and alignment
