When the Cape Town Marathon was unexpectedly cancelled, our Hollywood Athletics Club Purple Team turned disappointment into purpose. 💜

We had planned to support over 300 runners after the race, but instead, we redirected all the refreshments to those in greater need.🙌💜

We visited the City of Refuge Church in Cape Town, where we were inspired by their incredible work. The shelter serves over 4,000 meals daily and tackles major social challenges like drug abuse, poverty, unemployment, teenage pregnancy, and crime.

It was a powerful reminder that even when plans change, we can still show up, give back, and make a difference. 💪✨

For every runner, the Comrades Marathon journey begins months before the start line. It’s a gruelling cycle of early mornings, long runs in the punishing heat, and lonely miles in the pouring rain. There are moments of self-doubt and physical pain, where the only thing keeping them going is the fierce determination to not give up, to "Ska Fela Moya." This spirit is an intrinsic part of South African culture, a shared belief in perseverance that resonates with everyone who has faced adversity.

On race day, the slogan truly comes to life. As runners crest the final hills and their bodies scream for them to stop, the words "Ska Fela Moya" echo from the crowd.
