A quick shoutout and a heartfelt plea to everyone who is able to donate blood or platelets. Please do it. 🙏🏻

Your donation does not only help me. It helps countless other people who desperately need blood and platelets to survive.

I have been receiving transfusions every day, and I am incredibly grateful to every person whose donation has helped keep me going.

It has been an extremely tough time. Clare has been sleeping beside me in the hospital and has never left my side. I honestly could not do this without her. ❤️

I am still not out of the woods, and unfortunately, the Talvey has not started working yet. But we keep fighting, one day at a time.

There's a new ChalupSki on the water – and this time there's room for two!

I'm really excited to introduce the ChalupSki M2M, our new double surfski.

The name comes from Maui to Molokai, one of the greatest downwind paddles in the world and a stretch of ocean that has given me some incredible memories over the years.

At 7.0 metres long and 55 cm wide, we wanted the M2M to be incredibly stable, confidence-inspiring and dry to paddle. It's a ski you can use to introduce someone to the sport, coach from, paddle with family or simply enjoy a great downwind with a mate.

I'm not able to travel to China at the moment, so it's been particularly special having my son Luke and brother Walter there on a factory visit, spending time with the team and testing the new skis on the water at 1000 Island Lakes.

Whether you one day paddle it from Maui to Molokai or simply take someone you love out on your local waters, that's really what this ski is about.

Back in hospital after being out for less than 24 hours.

Yesterday was one of the hardest days I have ever endured. I walked nearly a kilometre, but had to stop several times to rest. Even flossing my teeth became such an effort that I had to lie down to do it. It felt like the toughest race of my life.

I eventually lay down to recover, only for my temperature to climb above 38°C. With my severe neutropenia, any fever is extremely dangerous, while my critically low platelets mean that even a small cut can bleed heavily, as this photo shows.

Unfortunately, this infection now delays my next full dose of the lifesaving drug Talvey.

I am exhausted and battered, but still fighting.

Some good news from Dr Perry this morning 🙏🏻

There have been slight improvements across all my blood markers. I am not out of the woods yet, but I am moving in the right direction. My blood pressure is much better, and the Cytokine Release Syndrome is now behind me.

After my blood transfusion today, I can finally leave the hospital 🙌🏻

My next Talvey treatment will be the FULL DOSE on Tuesday morning. I am hoping it puts me back on the path to exercising and travelling again 🤞🏻 Thule Products in South Africa

The first tiny step up dose of Talvey certainly flattened me.

In the middle of the night, I developed cytokine release syndrome and had to be rushed to hospital. It was a frightening reminder of just how powerful this treatment is and how closely I need to be monitored.

It was a bittersweet moment after an incredible act of kindness by the good Samaritan who went completely out of his way to collect my lifesaving Talvey from central Johannesburg and drove it to OR Tambo International Airport. Wayne, I am deeply indebted to you. A thank you, does not seem enough.

My next dose is on Saturday. Hopefully my body handles it better and I can get out of hospital on Sunday. 🤞🏻

Still fighting. Still believing.

It has taken a while today, but I have now received 1 litre of platelets and 2 litres of red blood cells. These should help my numbers in the short term🤞🏻

My latest results show just how serious the situation is:

Neutrophils: 0.08
Normal: 1.8 to 7.5

Platelets: 11
Normal: 150 to 400

Haemoglobin: 8.51
Normal: 13 to 17

White blood cells: 0.74
Normal: 4.0 to 10.0

Red blood cells: 2.53
Normal: 4.5 to 6.1

PCV or haematocrit: 25.3%
Normal: 40% to 55%

Kappa light chains: 758
Normal: approximately 3.3 to 19.4

Despite these numbers, I am still feeling good and staying positive.

If my Talvey arrives in Johannesburg this afternoon, I will rush it down to Cape Town so that I can start this lifesaving drug as soon as possible.

The fight continues.
