This week 39 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 12 were first timers and 3 recorded new Personal Bests.

📅 6 June 2026
We're back! And what a morning it was... yskoud doesn't even begin to describe it! 🥶 Despite the temperatures, 22 brave participants joined us to run, jog and walk the beautiful Velskoendraai course.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first event back on the course. It was wonderful to see familiar faces, welcome new ones, and enjoy a warm cup of coffee and good company.

We were delighted to welcome 6 first timers to Velskoendraai parkrun, and congratulations to the 6 participants who achieved new Personal Bests despite the freezing conditions! 🎉

BAIE DANKIE! 🙌

'n Opregte dankie aan Tobias Basson en span. Ons waardeer Twee Riviere se hulp met die herstel van ons unieke parkrun-roete.

Dankie ook aan Garry en Herbert van Velskoendraai Farm Stall and Restaurant vir die plant van die nuwe bordjies, en aan Die Inkpot & Blouwdruk vir die maak van die nuwe bordjies.

Dit is wonderlik om weer op ons roete terug te wees. Ons sien uit na nog vele Saterdae saam! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Due to flooding and sections of the parkrun route currently being under construction, the Velskoendraai parkrun event on Saturday, 23 May 2026 has unfortunately been cancelled.

As gevolg van oorstromings is daar dele van die parkrun-roete wat tans onder konstruksie is. Die Velskoendraai parkrun van Saterdag, 23 Mei 202 6 is daarom ongelukkig gekanselleer .

⚠️ BELANGRIKE KENNISGEWING ⚠️

Ongelukkig moet ons hierdie week se Velskoendraai parkrun van Saterdag, 16 Mei 2026 kanselleer weens vloedwater op die roete. 🌧️

Die veiligheid van al ons deelnemers, vrywilligers en ondersteuners bly ons eerste prioriteit. Ons waardeer almal se begrip en sien daarna uit om julle weer binnekort veilig terug op die roete te verwelkom.

Ons harte gaan ook uit na die eienaars van Tweerivier. Ons hoop en glo dat daar nie te veel skade aan hulle sitrusoes is nie. 🍊

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE ⚠️

Unfortunately, we have to cancel this week’s Velskoendraai parkrun for Saturday, 16 May 2026 due to flood water on the route. 🌧️

The safety of all our participants, volunteers and supporters remains our top priority. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and look forward to welcoming you back to the route soon.

Our hearts also go out to the Tweerivier farm. We truly hope and trust that there has not been too much damage to their citrus harvest. 🍊🙏

A total of 34 participants ran, jogged, and walked their way through the event. We were especially excited to welcome 13 visiting first-timers—thank you for joining us, and we hope to see you again soon!
