Luke Versfeld Shines in International Waterskiing Competition

Luke Versfeld (Grade 8 Werda) competed in the second leg of the International Summer Series slalom waterskiing competition, held at Vineyard Lake, Stellenbosch, over the past three days. With competitors from Norway, Greece, Hungary, Great Britain, Belgium, France, and South Africa, the competition was fierce. But our boy skied his heart out—not only winning his division again but also achieving a significant milestone.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Luke reached the magical score of 3 buoys on the 14m line—and went even further, scoring 4 on 14m! This outstanding performance has earned him qualification for full Junior South African Protea colours.

Luke will now compete in the San Gervasio Pro-Am in Italy this July, followed by the Europe and Africa Youth Championships (U14 division) in Madrid, Spain, where he will proudly represent South Africa.

Notably, Luke is the first Boishaaier in the history of Paarl Boys' High to achieve Protea colours for waterskiing—an achievement that fills us with immense pride!
