It showcases our competitors and shows off their systems. Some awesome builds and lovely sounding cars. Thanks Nezo.

What a day. Our 3rd competition for this season was held at The Rooihuiskraal Terrein in Centurion. We started the day at 10am as this was when the venue opened. The venue is great and I have been here many times in my life. My daughters grew up here, and I had my 33rd birthday party here. That was 17 years ago.
There were 16 cars as some competitors had to withdraw. 6 Rookies were there to grow the sport.
I made some changes to the SQSA system after the Rand show to allow offline scoring, and it gave some issues on the first car I judged. This cost me an hour in the day. From there it went smoothly.
Highlights of the day:
- Judging the Focus ST in the middle of the hot day while heated seats were unknowingly on.
- Having Shaun Izzet's front sub buzz my feet.
- The Yesterday track by the Beatles in Wayne Newton-Barker's car scoring a 10/10 and making his car the most musical for me for the day.
- the rain storm right as prize giving started

All in all a memorable day for sure and one of my favorite SQSA shows ever.

Thanks to my dad and wife for helping with the admin, certificates and the braai, and thanks to all the competitors.

Then special thanks to our sponsors who make it all possible:

The 1952 Nitro Rand Show event hosted by Nitro Crew is complete. What a day. We started the day later than normal, at around 10:50am, and the first car was just completed when Vodacom, MTN and Cell-C networks got over congested by the amount of people at the show. The networks just went down. This was not the fault of the organisers, but just a failure of infrastructure. This left us stranded since the judging system works online, and the music we listen to is streamed via Tidal. We tried multiple phones, hotspots, tethering, etc. with no luck. So, we decided to move the whole SQSA group to Hillfox where we annexed a parking lot.

Judging continued at around 12:30pm.

We eventually finished at 18:30 with prize giving.

Well done to all the competitors and thank you for your support and patience.

We had 17 entries, and two competitors had to withdraw on the day due to personal reasons. So we had 15 entries.

Highlights of the day was the holographic imaging in Pieter’s car, the stage depth in Neeresh’s car, and Steven and Neeresh who both scored 9/10 for the three musical enjoyment tracks.

Here is the results.

Here are the results for our first event for Season 11.
The venue was arranged for us at The Car Wash in Fourways. Thank you Amit for welcoming us.
The day started early, but some technical issues slowed initial progress for the event, but after the first three cars I got it sorted and the day went by faster.
Overall the judging time has gone down by 3 min per competitor, which is a good sign of competitors respecting the rules, their presentation times and fellow competitors by having their cars ready for judging and I thank you all for this.

The Rookie competitors are all very good this year. The cars sound great, and they are doing the basics really well for presentations and tuning.

We also saw a couple of new competitors in the higher ranks, with cars that have huge potential and are already scoring high.
The score differences are small, and competition is going to be lots of fun this season.

Last year's champion Steven Lowth ended up showing all the others that they still have work to do.

We also welcome our supporters for this year, , , , and . There will be more about them during this season. We thank them for their support of the industry and SQSA.

See you all at our next show on 4 April 2026 at The Randshow hosted by Nitro Crew.

🛠️ CHRONOS-11: UNOFFICIAL RECOVERY LOG #001
Inventor: Bruno Rossi
Operator: J***y Rossi (Dock ID: 85-JRB)
Parents: Tommy and Gina Rossi
Current Date: March 4, 1941
System Status: Accidental Initialization

🚢 The Incident
I was pulling a double shift at the Port of New Jersey. Found a heavy, rusted shipping container at the back of the yard that wasn't on the manifest. Inside was this... machine. It looked like a cross between a submarine engine and a high-end radio console from the 40s.
My legs were killing me, so I climbed in just to take a break and get out of the rain. I sat on the pilot’s bench which was looking out the doors over the dock. I leaned back, and my elbow hit a toggle switch labeled "INITIALIZE." A vacuum display lit up and showed 1941 in green. The door slammed shut. The hum started in my teeth and ended in my boots. Everything blurred for a few seconds and my ears started ringing. When the door hissed open again, the modern cranes were gone. The skyline was different. The air smelled like coal smoke.

⚙️ The Glitch (The 11/11 Constraint)
I’ve been poking around the internal wiring and gears. The manufacturing plate says this unit was built right here in 1941. That’s the year my Grandpa was born. I’m standing in the world he was just entering, and I’m terrified.
I’ve discovered two major malfunctions in the drive core:
* The 11-Day Decay: There is a digital readout labeled "Safety Jump" (which shouldn't even exist in 1941) counting down. I have exactly 11 days before the capacitors hit a thermal limit and trigger a "Safety Jump." I can't stop it.
* The 11-Year Gear Lock: The temporal gears are seized. According to the schematics and labeled wiring, the only exit path is a forward jump of exactly 11 years. I can't go back to 2018. I have to go through the decades, one jump at a time, with the display showing 1952 as my next stop.

📻 The Sonic Transducer
The machine’s "Fuel Cell" is actually a Sonic Transducer, the label on the gauge says so. It needs a specific acoustic pressure to stabilize the jump. If the music I find in 1941 doesn't have the right "Sound Quality," the fuel cell won't charge and I can't initiate the safety jump.
"I'm just a dock worker, not a scientist. But I know good sound when I hear it. I need to find music that can handle the 1941 swing with enough clarity to charge this fuel cell."
I will remove the cell and carry it with me, find the music and recharge it.

[SQSA SHOW MISSION: 1941]
J***y’s Note: "I’m hearing Big Band jazz everywhere. It’s mono, it’s scratchy, but it’s got soul. My goal for these 11 days is to find the cleanest signal in 1941". If your car can't reproduce the 'Musical Enjoyment' of this era, J***y might not make it to '52.

The first show for SQSA Season 11 is happening this weekend 15th March.
Although we tried planning all our events and venues, some unforeseen circumstances have forced us to change venue. I will announce the new venue tomorrow. But rest assured, the show will happen, even if it happens at my house.
