🛠️ CHRONOS-11: UNOFFICIAL RECOVERY LOG #001
Inventor: Bruno Rossi
Operator: J***y Rossi (Dock ID: 85-JRB)
Parents: Tommy and Gina Rossi
Current Date: March 4, 1941
System Status: Accidental Initialization
🚢 The Incident
I was pulling a double shift at the Port of New Jersey. Found a heavy, rusted shipping container at the back of the yard that wasn't on the manifest. Inside was this... machine. It looked like a cross between a submarine engine and a high-end radio console from the 40s.
My legs were killing me, so I climbed in just to take a break and get out of the rain. I sat on the pilot’s bench which was looking out the doors over the dock. I leaned back, and my elbow hit a toggle switch labeled "INITIALIZE." A vacuum display lit up and showed 1941 in green. The door slammed shut. The hum started in my teeth and ended in my boots. Everything blurred for a few seconds and my ears started ringing. When the door hissed open again, the modern cranes were gone. The skyline was different. The air smelled like coal smoke.
⚙️ The Glitch (The 11/11 Constraint)
I’ve been poking around the internal wiring and gears. The manufacturing plate says this unit was built right here in 1941. That’s the year my Grandpa was born. I’m standing in the world he was just entering, and I’m terrified.
I’ve discovered two major malfunctions in the drive core:
* The 11-Day Decay: There is a digital readout labeled "Safety Jump" (which shouldn't even exist in 1941) counting down. I have exactly 11 days before the capacitors hit a thermal limit and trigger a "Safety Jump." I can't stop it.
* The 11-Year Gear Lock: The temporal gears are seized. According to the schematics and labeled wiring, the only exit path is a forward jump of exactly 11 years. I can't go back to 2018. I have to go through the decades, one jump at a time, with the display showing 1952 as my next stop.
📻 The Sonic Transducer
The machine’s "Fuel Cell" is actually a Sonic Transducer, the label on the gauge says so. It needs a specific acoustic pressure to stabilize the jump. If the music I find in 1941 doesn't have the right "Sound Quality," the fuel cell won't charge and I can't initiate the safety jump.
"I'm just a dock worker, not a scientist. But I know good sound when I hear it. I need to find music that can handle the 1941 swing with enough clarity to charge this fuel cell."
I will remove the cell and carry it with me, find the music and recharge it.
[SQSA SHOW MISSION: 1941]
J***y’s Note: "I’m hearing Big Band jazz everywhere. It’s mono, it’s scratchy, but it’s got soul. My goal for these 11 days is to find the cleanest signal in 1941". If your car can't reproduce the 'Musical Enjoyment' of this era, J***y might not make it to '52.
