The name 'Boytjie' has always been part of the South African culture in sport and society and is often used as an affectionate term for a young man, friend or a great sportsman.
As a sports-loving country, we have many Boytjie's. Those who take the lead and make things happen, and those who display good leadership ability and can make a group of individuals pull together and work as a team.
One such player is Bishop's Rugby Vice-Captain, Boytjie Fyfer.
At 1.93m tall, Boytjie brings the same direct, physical edge to his performance that made other rugby players before him.
As the vice-captain, he has the same direct, physical edge, power and finesse that made past Springbok icons. With such passion and dedication to the sport, he instils confidence and respect for the game and each other, a true leader and mentor.
"WP Rugby knows the name. The future knows the player."
