After more than a decade of service to the Blue and White, we bid farewell to a coach whose impact on the Ikey Tigers extends far beyond the rugby field 🏆

From joining the programme in 2013 as an extra pair of hands to becoming a key figure within our High Performance Programme, Craig Childs has played an instrumental role in developing players, building culture, and driving excellence at every level of UCT Rugby.

Respected by players and coaches alike, Craig’s leadership, passion, and commitment have left a lasting mark on the club and on everyone fortunate enough to work alongside him.

Thank you for your unwavering dedication to the Ikey Tigers. Your legacy will continue to shape this programme for years to come.

The Grind is always better together 📚

Over the past week, we hosted our Ikeys Study Hub Nights, giving our players a space to focus, connect, and recharge during a busy exam season. A big thank you to Red Bull for helping keep the energy up and making the evenings even more enjoyable ⚡

From group work and quiet study sessions to a few well-earned brain breaks, it was great to see everyone making the most of the space while supporting one another both on and off the field 🙂‍↕️

As we head into the rest of the exam season, we wish all our players and supporters the very best. Keep working hard, back yourselves, and enjoy every moment of the journey 🙏

History made 🇿🇦

This week, the Ikey Tigers family celebrated a truly special milestone as our very own Natasha Hofmeester was appointed as the first-ever head coach of the SA Schools Girls team 👏

As a former Springbok Women’s player and a passionate advocate for the women’s game, Natasha has dedicated countless years to creating opportunities, developing players and helping women’s rugby grow. At Ikeys, her impact has been felt far beyond the field… shaping a culture where women can thrive, compete and believe in what is possible.

Through her leadership, mentorship and unwavering commitment to the game, she has inspired and empowered generations of players, leaving a lasting mark on our club and the broader rugby community.

To see her entrusted with leading the inaugural SA Schools Girls side is a fitting recognition of everything she has contributed to women’s rugby. We could not be prouder to see one of our own helping shape the future of the game in South Africa.

Congratulations Natasha! This is a richly deserved honour, and a proud moment for the entire Ikeys family 💙🤍
