The 2025 racing season roared to life as the BMW Car Club Cape Town One-Make Series & Clubmans kicked off with a bang. The paddock was buzzing, the drivers were fired up, and the racing was nothing short of electrifying.
Faizal strapped into his Tracktion Driving Experiences E46 M3 for double duty, competing in both the BMWCCCT One-Make Series and Clubmans. Despite battling a snapped propshaft and steering gremlins, he dug deep and clinched P2 in Clubmans Class C, proving once again that grit trumps setbacks.
Meanwhile, Car #146, the turbocharged E36, entered the fray in Class X—a proving ground for new car and driver combos. However, with a scorching 01:21 qualifying time, the car was bumped straight into Class A, where it went toe-to-toe with the heavy hitters. In the final showdown, it hustled its way to P2, splitting the field behind a rapid Volkswagen Polo.
Then there was Car #143, the monstrous BMW 1series, a wild fusion of an M3 powerplant and E92 rear suspension. After an impressive charge up to P4 in the sole BMWCCCT race, the driver pulled into the pits, suspecting an oiling issue after spotting slicks on the windshield. But post-race checks revealed it was spray from a competitor’s car ahead—a tough lesson in track awareness. Regardless, the 1 series maiden outing provided critical data, exposing a loose rear end that made the car a handful to drive. Expect some serious setup tweaks before its next appearance.
Massive shoutout to the team and fans for their support—this is just the beginning! Next round, we come back faster, sharper, and hungrier. See you on track.
