Our Story
The University of Cape Town Taekwon-Do club is proudly affiliated to the International Taekwon-Do Federation of South Africa (ITFSA), which acts as the official national governing body (NGB) for ITF Taekwon-Do in South Africa. On a provincal level, we are in partnership with the DO Martial Arts Centre (D.M.A.C, formerly Gi-Baek Taekwon-Do) in order to provide our members with excellence in both training and moral culture.
We pride ourselves in being an exclusively student-run club where adminstrative and organisational tasks are shared by an annually elected committee.
Our chief instructor Matthew Esof (4th Dan - International Instructor) conducts our regular classes at the UCT Sport Centre on Upper Campus on Tuesdays (18H00 - 19H30) and Thursdays (19H30 - 21H00).
This page serves as a community hub, for UCT members and all martial arts enthusiasts to discuss their art, plan events and review recent posts to keep themselves informed and motivated.
