𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱

𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟵 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝟭𝟯𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽! 🔥

With 9 matches now completed, the 2026 leaderboard is starting to take shape.

Simon Steyn continues to lead the way with an impressive 289.23%, followed by Danie Koch on 284.67% and Andries Jacobus Debeer on 281.99%.

But things get very interesting from 4th place onwards.

Steven Heinrich Coombs is currently 4th on 279.49%, with vd Westhuizen on 278.79% and JD Els just behind on 278.67%.

That's only 0.82% separating 4th to 6th!

And then we have another interesting statistic...

Looking back at the final Top 10 from the 2025 season, four of those shooters are once again sitting in the Top 10 after Match 9:

Steven Coombs
Danie Koch

Clearly, these guys know how to keep themselves near the sharp end of the leaderboard! 👏

But there is still plenty of shooting left, and with the three highest scores counting towards the final total, anything can happen.

And this year there is a lot more than bragging rights on the line!

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲!

Match 9 delivered another challenging day of precision shooting, with competitors treated to some rather interesting weather conditions.

The wind proved to be the real test, with competitors facing winds from the 2:30 to 3:30 direction and gusts ranging from 10 to 16 mph. Conditions were constantly changing, making reading the wind and making the right correction absolutely critical.

Once again, the final distance proved that no lead is safe. A small mistake or a missed wind call could quickly change the standings, keeping the competition tight right to the end.

What a day on the range!

Match 7 set a new Royal Flush Steel Challenge record, with 96 competitors taking to the firing line - our biggest turnout to date. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to another fantastic day of precision shooting.

The conditions looked manageable early on, but the wind had other plans. Many competitors arrived at the 700m stage with only a single miss for the day and were still well in contention for the win. The final distance proved to be the great equaliser, with the changing wind humbling even some of the most experienced shooters.

Congratulations to those who earned their place in the Royal Flush Circle! Shooters receive a Royal Flush Token by cleaning the rack of targets at distance: 2.5 MOA, 2 MOA, 1.5 MOA, 1 MOA, and ½ MOA.

A special congratulations goes to Pieter Ferreira, who won the match in what was remarkably his very first Royal Flush Steel Challenge. An outstanding achievement!

With Match 6 completed on 27 June 2026, we have four monthly matches remaining before the Grand Finale!

The leaderboard continues to change dramatically after every match, which is great news for competitors still fighting for a share of the R130,000 cash prize up for grabs at the Finals.

You'll notice the columns TS1, TS2, and TS3, along with a Total.

𝗧𝗦 = 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲

Your three best scores from the season will determine your position on the leaderboard. The total shown is the combined score of your Top 3 performances.

The more matches you compete in, the greater your opportunity to improve those three scores and climb the rankings before the Finals.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗲

The Finals score counts double.

Whatever score you achieve in the Grand Finale will be multiplied by two.

Your final season score will therefore be calculated as follows:

Your 3 Best Scores + (Finals Score × 2)

That means your final ranking is based on the equivalent of five scores, making the Grand Finale the most important match of the season.

With four qualifying matches still to go, there's plenty of time to move up the leaderboard. Keep shooting, keep improving, and we'll see you on the firing line!

What an incredible day on the range! We had an outstanding turnout of 95 shooters, and the level of competition was exceptional.

The top two competitors each missed just one gong throughout the entire match - a remarkable display of precision shooting.

Well done to those who earned their place in the Royal Flush Circle! Shooters receive a Royal Flush Token by cleaning the rack of targets at distance - 2.5 MOA, 2 MOA, 1.5 MOA, 1 MOA, and ½ MOA.

A few interesting statistics from the day:

23 different cartridges were represented on the firing line.
The largest cartridge was a 300 Norma Magnum firing a 245gr Berger.
The smallest was a .22 GT firing an 88gr ELD-M.
As expected, the 6.5 Creedmoor once again proved to be the most popular cartridge.

It's always great to see such a healthy mix of hunting ri**es and purpose-built precision ri**es competing side by side.

Last seasons winner Simon Steyn won the match yesterday in very tricky winds with this remarkable shot on a 110mm target (0.5 Moa) at 700m! The V***r trail from the 7Saum is truly something to behold

Very tricky wind on the 700m today, keep in mind smallest target is 0.5moa, 3 x royal flushes were achieved whereby a shooters hits all 5 targets at this distance , this time lapse was taken over 10 minutes, with each shooter engaging a target roughly every one and a half minute.

Another match done… and once again the leaderboard exploded 💥

After 5 matches, here’s what stands out:

🎯 Steven Heinrich Coombs storms straight into #1 with a massive 279,49%

🎯 JD Els jumps from 4th to 2nd and closes the gap to less than 1%

🎯 Dw de Klerk climbs from 8th to 3rd after a huge performance

🎯 Only 5 shooters managed to hold onto their Top 10 positions

🎯 Half the leaderboard changed AGAIN

🎯 Gerrit van Rooyen drops from #1 to #6 despite still holding a massive 252,14%

👉 One good match can launch you into the Top 10

👉 One bad match can destroy months of momentum.

The interesting part? We’re only 5 matches in.
