Hi Frozen Friends,

We’d love your input! We’re looking at setting the date for next year’s Polar Bear Splash on Tuesday, 16 June (second term). It’s a public holiday, and if the Department of Education declares the Monday a school holiday, it would mean a four-day weekend. That’s a great advantage for many, though we know it could also be tricky for those wanting to go camping or travelling.

We’ve held the Splash twice before in Worcester, and both times were a wonderful success. The event is hosted by Pioneer School for the Visually Impaired, and we’re excited to keep building on that tradition.

Now we’d really like to hear from our swimmers—both those who’ve braved the icy waters before and those planning to join in for the first time. What are your thoughts on this date?

Hi to all our beloved frozen friends. Question - can you please have a look at your calenders and let us know what you think of setting the date for our Polar Bear Splash next year for the 16th of june please - SECOND TERM. It's a Tuesday, a holiday and if/when the Dept of Education likely will make the Monday a school holiday, it would be the fourth day of a long weekend. That would be an advantage for many - it being on a public holiday ... but a disadvantage for others wanting/planning to go camping/holidaying for four days. We need to hear from SWIMMERS - those who've swum in the past and those who would likely swim next year. What are your thoughts?

A cold splash for a good cause!
Raising funds for the Pioneer School for the Visually Impaired in Worcester Saturday 17 August.
No wetsuits, so you'll be a hero in your family's eyes for ever. Impress that girlfriend/boyfriend. Make memories! Have stories to tell around the braai. A good excuse to drink hot chocolate and slaptjips afterwards. Raising money for a great cause. Practice for your swim to Robben Island!
Lekker food and beverages and spin the wheel raffle tickets and open to public.
