Wushu (Kung-fu) is a striking, wrestling & grappling style of martial arts for protection to disable opponents quickly and fast effectively based on the principle of economy of movement. It utilizes both open and closed hand strikes, a variation of different stances, kicks, blocks, throws and joint locks. It is characterized by b
oth hard (meeting force with force) and soft (using an aggressor's strength against them) techniques to defend against attackers. Sanda (Sanshou) is a consolidation of Wushu theories and techniques in a new contemporary format designed for national and international tournaments that consists of set rules and the ability to execute techniques at full power where fighters wear protective gear performed on a open stage platform. It is a form of kickboxing & wrestling with a complete system of realistic unarmed combat which features these days also in MMA tournaments. It consists of standard kicks and punches which lead to entrapment, throws or take-downs. Traditional Sanda covers self-defense techniques, grappling, (monkey-style) ground-fighting and weapon application skills. This unique, highly effective Wushu system of exercises, practices, combative fighting and self-defense, hand & weapon routines combined into set training programs to master various skill sets, is taught by a full-time qualified and experienced personal trainer (coach) who is courteous, skillful, a motivator & entertainer, committed to excellence in teaching to bring out the very best in every single student. Training sessions are exciting, vibrant, challenging and motivating to enhance determination and willpower. Training sessions are flexible scheduled to start every 30 minutes from 07h00 to 21h00 | 7 days a week, in a semi-private tuition structure (Personal Training) with 1 to 4 trainees during training sessions which leads to a very high standard of teaching and learning experience. Multi-task Personal Training is made possible by easy to learn scientific designed choreographed training programs. The flexible schedule is a great alternative for people who find it hard to keep to preassigned training times due to work, errands, studies, etc. When partner drills are required as part of the training program, it leaves the opportunity to fit it in during overlapping training times of other trainees. Also, Private Lessons are available on request for a full hands-on experience; to be booked a month in advance that other trainees can schedule their training sessions accordingly.

It's not the style of Martial Arts that defines a great martial artist, it's an instructor that understands the physics, anatomy & dynamics of each individual student to develop & enhance his/her attributes to a greater potential". At SWK it is very important that prospective trainees visit our facility for a presentation and a FREE introductory trial lesson with absolutely no cost or obligation. It will give you a chance to get a feel for the curriculum and teaching methods with the great opportunity to become part of a dynamic Martial Arts Society (Brother-Sister-Hood). The curriculum is divided into 3 categories: Sanda, Nanquan and Houquan with having a choice in which categories to train. For example, some trainees only study Sanda, whereas others study all 3 categories. All categories include warm-up, physical and stretching programs. SWK follows an indirect (goal orientated) continuous assessment policy to succeed trainees through the ranks, therefore no gradings or exams. Some trainees use tournaments as a measure to test their skill levels with great success (see Note: Wall of Fame), which proves the success rate of this kind of assessment policy.
