ATTENTION ALL WALKERS/ RUNNERS
According to the proposal made by Mark Barber (member) at the Annual General Meeting on November 19, 2022 and acknowledged by chairperson, B. Walker, a time trial will commence on 1 November and thereafter every Tuesday morning, starting 05h30.
Venue: Amanzimtoti Beach car park
Distance: 4.4 km, 1 lap on Beach Road
This is not a race, but a time trial for yourselves.
There are no entry fees, no cash prizes, no lucky draw prizes. If so, I would have road closures, public liabilities, etc.
I will be the sweeper for the time trial.
Initially a form (submitted with this draft) must be completed and sent to [email protected]
There will be a timekeeper, and correspondence will be sent out every Wednesday with the Time Trial results to keep everybody updated (as well as news of future events).
No entry is charged, but a R10 donation per rider is requested for every time trial, this will be given to the timekeeper for her time and effort every week.
Once the form has been completed (once off, possibly online or at the club) you will receive a number which will be yours permanently.
Arrive, tell the timekeeper your number and pay R10.
Every four weeks, your four times will be added and divided into four to determine your average.
Every 5th week we could get together and announce the fastest male and female, veteran, etc.
This will be done hopefully at GIANT, Spur, Valentino’s, The Thirsty Whale, and the athletics club.
The time trial dates this year will be 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 November; and 6, 13. and 20 December.
Different time trials will prevail.
We are hopeful to see everyone there.
Any suggestions will be welcome (I have kept this very simple and short).

Cars will be safe in the parking lot and a medical bag will be kept with the timekeeper.

Morning Community
This upcoming weekend is Race weekend.

Bring the whole family, there will be a dedicated children's area with a jumping castle along with DJ Sunshine who will be doing entertainment ( Collection box proceeds will go to the Loins club).

After the prize giving there will be a Bring & Braai at the rugby club.

Pap 'n Sous, salads and bread rolls @ R25 p.p
Bring own meat. Drinks available at the rugby club.

Q&A – Some basic questions asked…

Q – Is it a Mud race?
No, it’s a walking, running race

Q – Is it an obstacle race?
No, it’s a walk / run race on a flat running friendly course with lots of scenery.

Q – What happens when you get injured during the race?
You have to do all 4 courses to qualify for the cash prizes, but if not completed you still qualify for the lucky draw prizes.

*In team events – Both parties needs to start and finish together as a team.

Q - What happens if my partner can’t complete the race?
You carry on as a team but no longer qualify for the cash prizes.
