Sometimes we hurt people without meaning to. Our intention might have been good, but the impact lands differently. When that happens, the most human thing we can do is pause, listen, and apologise — not to defend our intention, but to honour the other person’s experience.

And sometimes we’re on the other side of that… waiting for an apology that may never come.

Not everyone has the capacity for self-reflection, emotional awareness, or empathy. That doesn’t mean your hurt isn’t real. It just means you may not receive the repair you deserve.

Healing doesn’t always come from the person who hurt us. Sometimes it comes from deciding we won’t wait for them to grow in order for us to move forward.

You’re allowed to acknowledge the pain, learn what the experience showed you, and release the expectation that someone else must fix it.

Peace often begins the moment we stop outsourcing our healing.

In my 40s, my body doesn’t look at all like it did in my 20s.

And if I’m honest… I miss her. I didn’t appreciate her.

But I’ve been asking myself something lately —
Do I feel uncomfortable in my body because I’ve gained a couple of sizes…
or do I feel uncomfortable because society tells me I should?

What if this weight gain isn’t about willpower or discipline?

What if, by the time we reach our 40s, our bodies are simply saying,
“I can’t keep carrying the stress the way you’ve been asking me to.”

What if the weight isn’t the enemy…
but a message?

Maybe she’s not broken.
Maybe she’s protecting you.
Maybe she’s asking for regulation, not restriction.

I’m learning to listen instead of fight. I’m always a work in progress.

Someone asked me recently, after I shared some of my experiences with sexual assault, “How did you cope with all of that?”

And it completely floored me.

No one has ever asked me that before.

I opened my mouth to answer and realised… I don’t actually know if I had an answer back then.

In the 90s there weren’t podcasts and Instagram pages and education platforms talking about trauma and healing. There wasn’t language for nervous systems and triggers. I was pretty much left to my own devices.

When I really think about it, my honest answer is this:

Music.

Nineties music was so full of emotion. It felt raw and aching and honest. It made me feel less alone. It let me feel what I couldn’t always say.

As an adult, I sought professional help. I did the therapy. I learned the language. I untangled things bit by bit by bit.

But healing hasn’t been one big breakthrough moment. It’s been a quiet choice, over and over again.

There were absolutely times I wanted to curl up and never leave the house again.

But I chose to participate in life.

And I keep choosing it.

Maybe coping isn’t one clear answer. Maybe it’s the small things that carry us through when we don’t even realise we’re surviving.

If you’re walking your own version of this, I just want you to know — however you coped, whatever got you through — it counts.

You’re not weak for how you survived.
You’re not behind for still working on it.
And you’re definitely not alone.

I love this conversation so much because it flips the narrative.

She came to me asking,
“Do you think my friends even like me?”

And my question back was…
How do you feel about them?

We spend so much time wondering if we’re accepted, chosen, approved of.
But rarely do we pause and ask:

✨ Do I feel safe here?
✨ Do I feel expanded or diminished?
✨ Do I actually like who I am around these women?

Yes — no one can “make” you feel anything.
And also… if someone is passive aggressive, dismissive or unkind, of course your body won’t feel good around that.

The work isn’t about blaming them.
It’s about getting curious about the story your nervous system is attaching to what’s happening.

You get to curate your life.
You get to choose who has access to you.
You get to decide what kind of relationships you participate in.

And this is the part I love about coaching — real-time reflection.
The voice memo from the bathroom.
The “this just happened” text.
The moment where we slow it down and untangle the story before it hardens into resentment.

If you’ve been questioning your friendships lately… maybe the better question isn’t “Do they like me?”

Maybe it’s, “Do I feel aligned here?”

If you want that kind of support — I’m here. 🤍

Plot twist I didn’t see coming… grosses me out but also I wish I’d known before throwing other bras away…😂

You don’t need to carry the relationship alone.
And… withdrawing won’t protect your heart either.

When your partner pulls back, it’s natural to feel hurt, unseen, or rejected.
Of course you talk it through with your girlfriends.
Of course you name your needs.

But here’s the part we often skip-

Not as self-blame — but as self-reflection:

✨ Have I withdrawn too?
✨ Am I protecting myself by closing off?
✨ Am I waiting for him to come toward me… while I’ve stopped reaching?

This isn’t about doing all the emotional labour.
And it’s not about abandoning your needs.

It’s about staying open without self-betrayal.
It’s about choosing growth over disconnection.
It’s about asking, “How can I show up with more capacity — without losing myself?”

Because two people withdrawing never creates safety.
But one person staying regulated, grounded, and open… can shift everything.

If this landed, tell me — have you noticed yourself pulling back?

Watching the red flags / green flags conversation on Married at First Sight Australia left me feeling sad, not entertained.

Not because people were emotional — but because emotional safety was missing.

Real friendship isn’t blind loyalty.
It isn’t cutting someone off.
It isn’t piling on the one person who offers a different perspective.

When Mel couldn’t name a single green flag — even while acknowledging she’d been cold and distant — there was a moment where curiosity, reflection, and growth could have happened.

Instead, accountability was labelled betrayal.
And “girls’ girl” was used as a weapon.

But real friendship looks like this:
✨ letting each other finish
✨ holding space without judgement
✨ being honest with kindness
✨ knowing support and agreement aren’t the same thing

Because the safest friendships aren’t the ones that always take your side —
they’re the ones that lovingly help you see your blind spots.

And if someone doesn’t feel safe enough to tell the truth?
That’s not closeness.
That’s self-protection.

We can be better friends to each other.
And it starts with safety.

✨ “I never dreamt that my life could have been this good.” ✨
— The Borrowed Life of Frederick Fife by Anna Johnson

What would it take for you to be able to say that at the end of your life?

Do you believe that an amazing life only comes after you tick every box…
or can you let yourself believe right now that your life is already good?

Here’s a gentle exercise I shared in this reel 👇
Go back and visit a few past versions of you. Maybe:
• You at 13
• You when you became a parent or got married
• You one year ago

Now tell them what your life looks like today.

What would that version of you say is so cool about your life now?
What would they celebrate?
What would they be proud of?

So often we’re chasing “better” that we forget to honour how far we’ve come.
Belief isn’t about denying growth—it’s about letting gratitude and self-trust exist alongside desire.

Your life gets to be meaningful, connected and fulfilling now, not just one day.

If this landed, sit with it.
And if you want support shifting your beliefs, reconnecting to yourself, and creating a life that feels aligned from the inside out—you’re not meant to do that alone 🤍

One of the weirdest things that’s ever happened….

10/02/2026

🚩 A coach who tells you what to do… isn’t coaching.

On MAFS, a participant said he’s a coach — and that he tells his clients how to live their lives. That stopped me in my tracks.

A true coach doesn’t hand out rules, instructions, or life orders.
We don’t override your intuition.
We don’t decide your boundaries.
We don’t live your life for you.

Real coaching is about drawing out the wisdom you already carry.
It’s about asking powerful questions, building self-trust, and helping you choose what aligns with your values.

Because when someone tells you what to do, you might comply…
But when you decide for yourself, you create lasting change.

Your life.
Your boundaries.
Your standards.
Your responsibility — supported, not controlled.

That’s coaching.

If you’ve ever been told what you “should” do instead of being supported to decide for yourself, this one’s for you.
