Thanks to this awesome group of people for doing an amazing job participating in the KAT Challenge today! 🚮 We appreciate them all for looking out for trash during the trip and also making sure the area looked better than they found it when they left! 👏 🎉

Our winner 🏆 today was Sarah!! Sarah did an amazing job looking for trash today! She was also happy to take trash from others as well! She was named the trip winner 🥇 by group vote at the end! 👏

We had so much fun at the Queen 👑 Burgess Falls with 13 amazing people today! It was a beautiful and sunny ☀️ day on the water. We also had the perfect crew with us who was ready for adventure, and also ready to relax too! 😻 We had lots of fun with everyone! 🙌

*You cannot paddle to the bottom pool in front of the waterfall as of today (6.4.26) but you can paddle to where the “big rock” is, just past the powerhouse structures. Please wear your life jacket if swimming at the bottom. There is still a fairly strong current the pulls you into the deeper part of the pool if you aren’t paying attention. Be safe y’all 💖

Burgess Falls (6.4.26)! The Queen 👑 is still super misty! Beautiful as ever though. Please don’t forget the life jacket, especially in the bottom pool. There is still a current and the waterfall is still running pretty hard. Be safe y’all 💖

Happy Waterfall Wednesday! We had the perfect day at the Queen 👑 Burgess Falls with 13 amazing people! We saw a bald eagle 🦅 right as we left the launch, plus plenty of wildlife including a deer along the way! We chatted and relaxed the day away. The mist was chilly coming off of the waterfall but that just helped tame the hot sun! ☀️

Burgess Falls Update for the general public:

it’s going to be a very busy week on the water! June it here, the sun is shining and water levels are up quite a bit from a few weeks ago. We can currently paddle just past the powerhouse the the beach type area in front of the big rock. (See first picture of where we got out today) You can NOT currently paddle into the bottom pool as of today. (6.3.26)

Also with rising water the log jam is back that you have to paddle through. It’s there every year when water levels are up. It’s not too bad yet but if levels continue to creep up it will continue to get thicker. When water levels are high it picks up logs, duckweek, foamy water, and occasionally a dead critter where the lake water meets the river water. It crams it all together like a little sandwich. While it looks yucky, keep in mind it’s just organic material, it just takes some effort to push through with the logs there.

It’s a tight fit for parking the kayaks and we always try to work with everyone to take up as little room as possible. If we all work together as a lake family, there will be plenty of room for everyone 💖

Thanks to Angela for coming back again this year and bringing her family and friends with her!! 🤩 We had such a blast at Burgess Falls with a perfectly adventurous group! 🙌 We loved hanging out with everyone and definitely wore ourselves out playing in nature! 🫶

**You cannot paddle the full way to the bottom of the waterfall, as of today (6.2.26) you can get to the powerhouse around the corner. If you’re a very strong paddler you can get around the corner to where you can see the waterfall. Water levels are not high enough to paddle to the bottom pool. We will continue to update daily 🤩**

You can currently paddle to the powerhouse area and if you’re a really strong paddler you’d can get a bit further. You *cannot* paddle to the bottom pool as of today. 🌻
