Radical self love is one of the greatest thing you can do for the world, yourself and humanity.
Self confidence did not come easy for me.
Growing up, I got all my validation externally.
If the people closest to me thought something about what I did, what I looked like, then I took that on myself.
I would literally change my outfit if it wasn't approved.
Getting all your approval from outside sources does horrible things to your self confidence, in fact I can honestly say I had 0.
So when I was pressured into modelling - landing a gig on TV, you can see why I stayed up all night worrying in intense fear and eventually felt so much better when I managed to get out of it.
I pi**ed off the most important person to me at that time and that felt like death to the insufferable people pleaser I had within.
We are shamed for loving ourselves... because that takes all the power away from anyone trying to control you.
I have more self love than I ever have and I am only more loving, more kind, more generous because of it.
I am not self absorbed, self obsessed (like I used to be when I had no self love) I just no longer choose to give another that kind of power over me.
I don't wear make up, dress to impress anyone else, or have to have anyone else's input in what I look like because quite frankly, I don't care and it wouldn't change the way I feel about myself if they did have an opinion either way.
Side note: there's nothing wrong with wearing make up if that's what you want to do.
Empowered is how I want to feel and so by sharing this I hope I can empower you to embrace a little more self love into your day.
It literally shifts everything from your relationships, to how you treat other people and of course yourself.
If you can't express that kind of love to yourself first, how on earth are you going to extend it to others?
