🌟 Trainer of the Night — Archie
Archie is improving so much week on week! His dribbling and passing keep getting better and better, and he trains so hard every session — always giving it his all right to the very end. He’s also full of brilliant football questions and always eager to learn. Keep shining, Archie — fantastic work! 💪🔵

🦖 Franky’s Teammate Award — Oscar
Oscar has been stepping up as our goalkeeper and he’s been absolutely brilliant — showing real bravery and listening so carefully to everything we’ve asked. Not only that, but over the last few sessions and matches he has come out field and his energy levels have been amazing — he’s getting stuck in, chasing everything down, and throwing himself into every tackle. Super impressive, Oscar — well done! 🙌🔵

Our Under 8s played their first league game of the season this morning, away against a very good Pontnewydd side. After a tough opening quarter, the team woke up and showed a lot of fight, determination and effort in the remaining three quarters, which resulted in a much tighter contest. Some really encouraging signs and plenty of improvement from last season. 💙

With our ever-growing numbers, we found it really hard to pick a Player of the Match this week, so we decided to name three.

First up, we have Hadleigh. Another outstanding effort from him today in defence for us. He’s strong, loves a good tackle and even got an assist, something his distribution has deserved over the last few weeks. A very important player for us, and he takes the award off the back of another impressive individual performance.

Next up, we have Ayden. A constant threat for us up top today, and he didn’t stop running. He’s in very good form and managed to get himself another two goals today in clinical fashion.

Lastly, we have Layla. A very good performance from Layla alongside Hadleigh at the heart of the defence. She made some brilliant last-ditch tackles to help her team and listened to the instructions from the coaches, implementing them on the pitch. She’s improving week on week.

Great effort, young Blues! 💙

A big well done to our Trainers of the Week from tonight’s session! 👏🔥

First Trainer of the Week – Hadleigh
Hadleigh was fantastic tonight! His close control and brilliant passing out from the back really stood out. He produced some impressive dribbles to help get his team further up the pitch and showed great confidence when taking players on.

The highlight was a very impressive piece of skill, combining brilliant close control and balance to keep possession and beat his opponent. Excellent performance, Hadleigh! 👏⚽

Second Trainer of the Week – Kaleb
Another fantastic performance from Kaleb! As a new player to the group, he continues to improve every single week and tonight was another big step forward. 💪

Kaleb certainly isn’t shy when it comes to putting his body on the line to make sure nobody gets past him! He’s now starting to read the game much better, understanding his position and where he needs to stand to help his team.

He was an absolute rock in the centre of defence tonight and a huge reason his team stayed strong at the back. 🧱👏

Frankie’s Teammate Award – Louie
Our final award goes to Louie! ⭐

Over the last few sessions, the coaches have challenged Louie to show more confidence on the ball and back his ability by dribbling for longer with the ball at his feet.

He has got some great ability, and we’re starting to see a big difference over these last few sessions. He’s taking on that challenge, showing more confidence and trusting himself when in possession.

Keep believing in yourself, Louie the progress is fantastic to see! 👏⚽🔥

So much energy, effort and focus from our team this evening — it’s amazing to see how hard everyone is working and how much you’re all improving week on week.

🏆 Training Stars of the Night! 🌟

⚽️Oliver J — what a powerhouse tonight! ⚡️ A total running machine who threw himself into everything, and even grabbed a goal in the final match! It sometimes looked like there were two of him on the pitch — he was everywhere! He absolutely earned those Pokémon cards from his dad, and best of all — all the players agreed Oliver was the standout tonight. He was brilliant! 💙

⚽️Layla — fantastic progress! 💪 She’s been working hard on her defending over the last couple of weeks, and it showed tonight with some superb, strong tackles. She listened brilliantly throughout the session and is really starting to understand the game better, especially with her positioning. Keep it up, Layla — you’re doing amazing! 🙌

Huge well done to everyone who trained tonight — keep putting in the hard work, it’s paying off! 💙🔵

What a difference a year makes! Last time we entered the Caerleon Festival, we had just four players — today? Two full sides! 💙💙

The rain stayed away for the most perfect afternoon — packed with brilliant football, epic Beyblade battles, top-tier team bonding, legendary Michael Jackson dance moves, and of course… ice cream 🍦 But let’s talk about the football — the team battled right to the very end, showing grit, determination, and that never-give-up attitude we love to see! 💪

Some fantastic team goals, a few brave new keepers stepping up between the posts, and brand new goal scorers — Teddy and Kaleb both hitting the net for the first time! 🎉 And our fox-in-the-box Ayden was at it again, bagging a few more for the collection. Well done, everyone! 🔵⚽️

🦖 Franky’s Teammate Award — HUDSON! 🏅
This one’s extra special. Hudson started on fire — flying into big tackles and setting up a lovely assist right from kick-off! 🔥 Midway through, he found it tough and stepped away, feeling like he didn’t want to play anymore. But after a little pep talk from his sister, he bounced back — showing brilliant resilience, got straight back out there, and even lifted a teammate up by saying “We’ve got this — we’re a team!” 💙 That’s exactly what Franky’s Award is all about. So proud of you, Hudson! 🦖

🕺 BEST DANCER AWARD — CAERLEON FESTIVAL! 🏆
And we came home with the big one — the festival’s Best Dancer Award went to our very own Oliver Tidball! He absolutely stole the show with his incredible Michael Jackson moves 🕺⚡️You can find his winning performance in the comment section 😁

Another great training session tonight for the team, working on shape and organisation. All of the players showed plenty of confidence when dribbling with the ball, and they certainly weren’t shy about putting in some big tackles either! 💪⚽️

After all their hard work and effort, they were rewarded with a lovely, refreshing cup of strawberries and chocolate from Fruit Veg in Blaenavon. 🍓🍫

🏆 Trainer of the Week – Baylee 🏆

This week’s Trainer of the Week award goes to Baylee. He’s really impressed the coaches since joining our team and continues to grow in confidence every week. His tackling is a big strength, but tonight he also showed some lovely passing and produced some great dribbles too. A fantastic all-round performance, Baylee! 👏

⭐ Frankie’s Teammate of the Week – Archie ⭐

Frankie’s Teammate of the Week award goes to Archie. He put in a strong display on Sunday and carried that form into tonight’s training session with another all-action performance.

He was very strong defensively for his team and did all the hard work to allow the rest of the team to focus on attacking. A brilliant team performance from Archie! 👏💙

What a fantastic afternoon of football! We hosted Pilcs for two separate matches, and both teams were absolutely brilliant — great tackles, clever counter-attacking, some wonderful goals, and plenty of hard work in the sweltering heat. But best of all? There were smiles from start to finish 😊

🌟 Player of the Match — Game 1: Ayden
Ayden was outstanding today, working tirelessly in both defence and attack. He held his position brilliantly, making himself so hard for the opposition to deal with, and it was wonderful to see his confidence shining through with some lovely goals. A superb performance alongside teammates Hadleigh, Hudson, Thomas, Kaleb and Layla — great work from everyone! 💙

🌟 Player of the Match — Game 2: Oliver T
The coaches challenged Oliver to step up his work rate for the team — in both defence and attack — and boy did he deliver! A blockbuster performance, capped off with a fantastic goal, and he was a real asset to teammates Oliver J, Jacob, Louie, Archie and Teddy. Absolutely brilliant to see! 👏

🦖 Franky’s Teammate Award: Teddy
And our Franky’s Award goes to Teddy — what an engine! His energy never dropped for a second. Some brilliant solo dribbling runs and some vital last-ditch cover tackles showed exactly what team spirit is all about. Well done, Teddy! 💙

Training tonight was all about position awareness, and all of the players did themselves proud. There was a lot of information to take on board, but the shape of the team throughout the training session was really impressive.

Our first Trainer of the Night award goes to our returning player, Jacob. He hasn’t been with us for a couple of months due to injury and the summer break, but he hasn’t missed a beat. Straight from the off, he was all action, showing some impressive dribbling and tackling whilst keeping his position throughout the session.⚽️

Our second Trainer of the Night award goes to Oscar. This is a new position for our team this year, as we have goalkeepers for the first time. Oscar volunteered straight away and has been improving week on week. He is comfortable with his shot stopping and has been working hard on his distribution. It can be a thankless task as a goalkeeper but he really impressed all 3 coaches so far with some brilliant displays in the sticks🧤

Our Franky’s Teammate award goes to Kaleb. A new addition to the team, Kaleb is full of confidence. He wasn’t afraid to put in some big tackles for his team, which saved a good few goals, whilst also helping to set up attacks for his teammates. Keep up the good work🦖

As preseason continues, we’ve had our second game of the summer against Newport Saracens. A hot morning full of plenty of effort from both sets of players, with some great football on show.

Our Man of the Match this week goes to Hadleigh. He set the standard from the start and continued it throughout the game which was very impressive in that heat. He was very strong defensively, making a number of important tackles and blocks for the team. He also created plenty of chances for his teammates from open play and set plays with his pinpoint passing and crossing of the ball⚽️

Overall, he was very solid all round today. Keep up the good work! 💙
