Last week I was invited to Collaboration in Action with these phenomenal humans.

Hearing Cassie from Specialised Behavioural Support Services, Tom from Kindly Healthcare and Leah from Hansberry SC speak on the panel about how different people could be collaborating more effectively had my brain was exploding with ideas. I can't wait to see what this discussion leads to.

Thank you, Vashek from Ancora National, Kathryn from Hireup and Tegen from Metrocare Services, I am so proud of you all for stepping out of your comfort zones to bring this event together.

Meanwhile, I have massive FOMO about missing out on Thirsty Thursday with you all. I'll try not to cry too hard on the rooftop bar in Melbourne. 😉

I am so grateful for my amazing team, Jess, Leah, Stacey B & P, Tammy, & Liz, working behind the scenes, making sure our clients are well cared for, while we take this family/homeschool/award trip through Victoria.

If you're looking for a team to work behind the scenes for you, so you can go adventuring, reach out! 😉

This is what life looks like for me right now.

Homeschooling Lincoln, gymnastics, playground catch ups, dog park dates, client work and meetings fit in between all of it, and a business that works around my life instead of the other way around.

It's not perfect. Some days it's chaotic and loud and nothing goes to plan. But I'm here for it. Present for the moments that matter, building something I'm proud of, and not missing a thing.

This didn't happen by accident. Five years ago I made a decision that the moments with my son, were more important than a full-time salary. I started a virtual assistant business from home with no fancy setup, no business degree, and no idea it would grow into what it is today.

And I genuinely believe any mum who wants this can have it.

Not my exact life, yours. Built around your kids, your schedule, your version of freedom. Whether that's school runs or homeschool, part time or full time, working from the kitchen table or a home office. You get to decide what it looks like.

If you're watching this thinking you want something similar, I made something for you.

Comment WATCH below and I'll send you my free mini course that walks you through exactly how to start your own VA business and build a life that actually fits around what matters most to you. 🤍

This is your reminder that you don't have to build your VA business alone.

Inside the VA Foundations community you get so much more than a course. You get a whole group of women doing exactly what you're doing, figuring it out alongside you, cheering you on and picking you up when it gets hard.

Here's what's inside the community right now:
📣 Announcements so you're always across what's happening and what's coming next
❓ FAQ & Feedback section so you can find quick answers to frequently asked questions and provide feedback for course updates
💬 General discussion and introductions so you can actually get to know the women you're building alongside
🤝 Opportunities for collaboration over competition - if we receive leads that we can't service, guess where they will go?
🙋 Q&A so nothing gets left unanswered
🏆 Friday wins because celebrating what you've achieved every single week matters more than you think
💡 Masterclasses from incredible experts, because building a business is about so much more than just the work

This month we had the amazing Samantha Boardman from Spending Made Easy come in to talk about spending plans and how to make the most of your money and how to predict where it will go.

When you're building something new and it feels a little lonely, having other women right there alongside you doing the same thing can make all the difference.

This is that community.

Comment WATCH below for the free mini course and come and see what we're building. 🤍

We were in the middle of an imaginary Pokemon world the other day when my son stopped and asked me, "Mumma, if we were in the Pokemon world, what business would you have?"

Not what job. What business.

I just sat there smiling because he knows me so well. This is genuinely all he's ever known. Me building something, running something, working for myself. This is just normal life to him.

When you ask him what he wants to be when he grows up...

His answer, pretty much every time? He's going to start a business. But he's going to hire people to do the things he doesn't want to do, so he can spend his time doing what he actually loves.

He's an 8yo kid and he already gets it.

I can't take full credit for that. He's just grown up watching it happen and somewhere along the way it became his normal too. The idea that you don't just get a job because that's what you're supposed to do. That you can build something that works around your life and the things that matter to you.

This is everything. This is the whole reason.

So proud of this little human and I cannot wait to see where he goes. 🤍

✅️ First keynote speaker experience

Massive thank you to Ron and Karen from and Adelaide Networking Connections for inviting me to be their keynote speaker for May.

To be honest, I'm still processing the fact that I wasn't shaking, didn't forget my words, and got to take in the audience as I spoke about my journey.

I will share more when I get my own head around this new development 🤣

Thank you to everyone in the audience for nodding along and taking the time to listen.

Special shout out to River for being my most captivated audience member 😉💕

This little face is my why.

When Lincoln was born everything changed. Not just in the way everyone tells you it will, but in a way I hadn't expected. I looked at him and I knew I wasn't willing to hand the best parts of my day to someone else. The morning chaos, the random questions, the moments that seem small but aren't. I wanted to be there for all of it.

So I built something that made that possible.

And if you're watching this as a mum who feels that same pull, that quiet voice telling you there has to be another way, I want you to know that voice is worth listening to.

You don't have to miss the things that matter to keep your family afloat. You don't have to choose between being present and earning an income. You don't have to follow a path that was never designed around your life to begin with.

Your why is enough reason to start.

It was enough for me. 🤍

Comment WATCH if you are ready to listen to that little voice, and I'll send you the free mini series to show you how.

This is your reminder for today (and every day).

You don't have to have it all figured out. You don't have to be doing everything perfectly or moving as fast as you think you should be. You just have to keep going, one small step at a time, and not let the pursuit of perfect talk you out of the progress you're already making.

Stop for a second today. Notice the little moments. The ones that seem ordinary but won't always be there. Because those are the ones you'll look back on and be so glad you were present for.

You're doing better than you think. 🤍

I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to get real on the HerStory Podcast with Kylie King from Australian Ladies in Business Initiative Business.

We talked about what it actually looks like to build a business around your family, the self-doubt that shows up at every new level, and why feeling overwhelmed doesn't mean you're doing it wrong.

If you've been at this for a while and you're still questioning whether you're really capable of making it work, this episode is for you.

Go give it a listen and let me know what resonates.

I've been asked to keynote at Adelaide Networking Connections and the topic is one that is worth me sitting next to my fear to share about. Being a people pleaser. The good girl. The woman who spent years shrinking herself, seeking approval, and doing what everyone else expected of her because that felt safer than just being herself.

That was me for a long time. And honestly, parts of it still show up.

But somewhere along the way, building my businesses, choosing to homeschool, deciding that my life didn't have to look like everyone else's, I started learning what it actually felt like to just be me. Not the version of me that kept everyone comfortable. The real one.
That's what I'm aiming to bring to the room on Tuesday and I think it's going to be a conversation a lot of us need to have.

The event is now sold out... but I promise to share some snippets when available.
