A great way to start the weekend - whether you're looking for a PB, a steady pace or just a run along the prom.

parkrun starts at 9am every Saturday. It's free but you need to register (https://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/) and bring your barcode in physical or digital form.

We are very excited to welcome the lovely Worthing Gazelles to Littlehampton tomorrow morning, not only are they planning to pace you out on the course with a whole range of times from 20 mins through to 38 mins but also they have promised to bring some sunshine along the coast with them too!

Looking forward to seeing you in the morning, as always let us know if you are celebrating a milestone or visiting us from afar (or not so far)!

Sprilltervals - some kind of combination of sprint/hills/intervals helping to increase speed and leg strength.
I try out all my sessions before sharing them with my coachees or groups so I know what I'm putting you through (and the benefits).
The hill in the background is the one I ran up/ walked down several times. Starting with a warm up and followed by a cool down gave a nice compact session.

What do you eat before you run? Are making the most of the cooler, lighter mornings to get in your run? It's quite possible to fit in 45-60 mins of easy exercise without eating anything first (providing you've eaten normally the day before). Any more than this and you may start to feel a bit light-headed or dizzy.
If you have a harder or longer session planned, then you will need to eat something. There can be a lot of trial and error in this process, but some suggestions to get you started - banana, bagel, toast, energy bar - it doesn't need to be a lot, but should be more carbohydrate based than anything else.

In all the coached sessions I run, there is a focus on warming up and cooling down. It's an important part of any exercise session and in running can be a great way to sneak in some strength work, running drills and speed without taking away from "going for a run".
Same for cool downs, a perfect way to end the session, before your focus switches to "everything else".

The Easter Bunny will make an appearance to coordinate some running fun at Fitness Friday this week at Petworth Park Sports . Suitable for all abilities, coffee bar open from 10am for hot/cold drinks and Easter treats. Children 12 and over welcome if they bring an adult. It's £5 for the session and annual membership of the sports club is £5.
