Vegan in Slovenia 🇸🇮
Public & Vegan Kitchen Bled the only fully vegan restaurant in Bled so we obviously had to visit. The most incredible (and mahoosive) burgers and wedges. Chickpea fritters for Cody and also the traditional Bled cream cake. One of my favourite things about travelling is trying the local food so when we find a veganised version it’s an absolute must!
vegan cheese on offer here meant that you could order any veggie pizza. They had one vegan pizza offering as well which we both went for. Topped with rocket, aubergine, peppers and tofu. Tofu seemed like a strange thing on pizza at first but it really worked.
BOWL BAR so good we had it everyday for lunch in Bled. A bowl with tempeh, avocado, pickled ginger, edamame, all the veggies on sushi rice. So refreshing in the heatwave and Cody-approved! He inhaled his on our lake side picnics
Wolt Slovenia | hitra dostava our flight was delayed so we arrived a lot later than expected. Enter Wolt to save the day. Essentially a delivery service like deliveroo a late night vegan platter from Fari's 🍔🌯 was cycled over to us. Falafel and veganised traditional sausage, “cheese and ham” toastie bites in a huge box with chips and salad. No photo we were haaaangry 😂
GRASHKA DELI a happy accident that this was a 2 minute walk from our apartment in Ljubljana, we picked up some incredible fresh baked (still warm) pastries. A spicdy cinnamon knot and Slovenian apple strudel were the most delicious breakfast.
Bistro Gaudi&Naan|kosila|večerje|catering absolutely loved this place! It felt a little fancy but they wheeled out a baby trolley full of toys for Cody and had no issue with him playing in the restaurant while we waited for food. We felt very welcome 🥰 in another life when we could sit for a meal for 3/4 hours we would have gone for the tasting menu because it all looked and smelt insanely good. We went for the stuffed cabbage rolled and the gnocchi. The filling of the rolls was so unusual and delicious - stuffed with fermented cashews and veggies served with a super rich tomato sauce and mash. The gnocchi was also some of the best we’ve ever had and Cody loved all of it!
