Let the coaches do the coaching
A note from the Office of Sport
Coaches are the ultimate jack of all trades!
Respecting our coaches is this week’s Shoosh for Kids focus – and with National Volunteer Week coming to a close this weekend, it’s the perfect time to recognise the vital role they play.
Coaches are volunteers who give up their time week after week to help kids build skills, confidence and a love of sport. Their impact goes beyond the field, shaping how young people learn, grow and work as a team.
This week, we’re encouraging families to support coaches by letting them do the coaching. From the sideline and on the way home, keep your messages positive and aligned with what coaches are teaching.
As we wrap up National Volunteer Week, take a moment to thank your coaches for the time, care and energy they put into developing kids both on and off the field. When we support them, we help create a better experience for everyone.
Check out this awesome piece of content from The Football Association focusing on respect for coaches, setting a good example for players and parents through actions during a match.
