What a Day!!!

Today was the first time I got to drive my 1974 Johnson Formula Ford. I recently took ownership of this car from Nigel Huston who raced it for over 27 years.

This was my first time driving a Formula Ford car and I absolutely loved it, its a big step up but I'm looking forward to learning all about this type of racing.

The aim is to compete with this car in the South Island Historic Formula Ford Series, with the first event being the Wigram Revival on the 29th and 30th October.

Had a great day racing on Sunday for the KartSport Canterbury August club day. Super happy to be taking away 3rd overall in the briggs light class. Absolutely loving this class with the amount of close racing, and its great to see the class growing more and more. Can't wait to get back out for the next one!

An exciting Monday out testing with UCM - University of Canterbury Motorsport and their all electric formula student car. This was my first time driving this type of car and absolutely loved it, can't wait for more testing in the near future.

Yesterday was something different with having the opportunity to race in the Canterbury Car Club sealed autocross at Mike Pero Motorsport Park, Ruapuna . Jumping into a borrowed rally spec corolla took a bit of getting used to, but throughout the day kept improving and moving up the feild. Overall had so much fun and learnt heaps.

Day 2 🥈✅

What a way to finish the weekend with 2nd overall for the KSC club day. There was some very close racing today, but managed to get 2nd in every race apart from one where I got third. The kart felt really good and I'm feeling faster and more confident every race.

Day 1 🥇 ✅

Great day with UCM and the team, heaps of learning came out of today and super stoked with the final results. Was a close battle but Jared brought it home just in front for us. Looking forward to doing some driving of my own tomorrow for KSC club day.

That's P1 for us today! 🥇 It didn't come easy with us fighting an electrical issue for most of the day but the team worked tirelessly to make it through and win by just 0.07s!

A massive congratulations goes to the whole team for the big effort. Also, we thank Gareth Evans supported by Ashburton Marine for a great battle all day long.

1️⃣ Saturday - At Ruapuna with UCM for an Autocross
2️⃣ Sunday - Kart racing for the KSC June Club Day

Excited for a huge action packed weekend that's going to be full of racing, hopefully Ruapuna is a bit dryer this time around.🌦

Spent this weekend at the Canterbury Rally, helping out one of the teams and taking heaps of photos. Love seeing all the amazing cars and being so close to the action.
