PARENTS, THIS ONE IS FOR YOU! ❤️

As we start another CYO season, remember what our kids need most from us.

CHEER THEM ON.
ENCOURAGE THEM.
SUPPORT THEIR TEAM.
RESPECT THE OFFICIALS.
LET THE COACHES COACH. 🏆

And remember this:

“The ride home matters more than you think.”

After the game, instead of:
“Why did you miss that shot?”
“Why did you fumble?”
“Why didn’t you play more?”
“How many points did you score?”
“Did you win?”

Try four simple words:

“DID YOU HAVE FUN?” ❤️

Wins and losses will come and go. Our kids will make mistakes. They will miss shots, drop passes, strike out, lose games, and have tough days.

That’s youth sports.

Our job is to make sure they still LOVE playing.

CYO also maintains a ZERO TOLERANCE policy. We expect our parents, coaches, athletes, and spectators to help create a safe, respectful, positive, and Christ-centered environment. ✝️

And here’s the easiest rule to remember:

IF YOU WOULDN’T SAY IT AT CHURCH, DON’T SAY IT AT THE FIELDS. 🙏

We represent St. Matthew.
We represent our CYO.
Most importantly, our kids are watching us. ❤️

CYO is more than sports. It is a ministry of our Church. ❤️🙏

We use sports to help develop young people in faith, character, sportsmanship, and community.

This isn’t a club.
This isn’t a select league.
THIS IS CYO. ✝️🏆

Our mission goes far beyond wins and losses. We want every child to have a safe, healthy place to play, learn, grow, compete, build friendships, and strengthen their faith.

We teach our athletes how to win with humility and how to lose with grace.

We welcome every child. We respect every child. We remind them that their value is never determined by a scoreboard, playing time, or athletic ability.

Most importantly, we strive to create an environment where Catholic Gospel values matter, character matters, faith matters, and GOD IS PRESENT. ❤️

We are developing athletes, teammates, leaders, and disciples of Jesus Christ.

❤️ THANK YOU to every St. Matthew CYO coach who stepped up to make a difference!

Coaching takes time. It takes effort. It takes planning. It means showing up after a long day, preparing for practices, encouraging kids, teaching fundamentals, and setting the example. 🏆

WE SEE YOU. 👀

And more importantly, the kids see you too.

Long after the season ends, these kids will still call you “COACH.” That title means something. ❤️

You are helping build confidence, character, teamwork, sportsmanship, and memories they will carry with them for years.

❤️ You make a difference.
🙏 And we appreciate everything you give to our CYO athletes and ministry.

Players, parents, coaches, and families, come represent your team and celebrate Mass together as one CYO family. Wear your jerseys, wear your St. Matthew gear, bring the family, and let’s fill the gym with RED!

This is one of those special moments when every sport and every team comes together for something bigger than the scoreboard.
