2026 John Messenger Women’s Match Racing Champions.

A great weekend for the women of Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club. lead by Juliet Costanzo, with crew; Sarah Parker, Clare Costanzo, Katie Spithill, Jess Angus and Tara Blanc-Ramos have taken out the 2026 John Messenger Women’s Match Racing Championship after a flawless weekend, winning all 10 races.

With two teams of five competing across the two boats, the event was a fantastic showcase of women’s match racing talent. Our RPAYC YD Team, led by Isabella Holdsworth, also put in a strong performance, finishing 4th, sailing with Sophie Hart, Victoria Lin, Annabelle Sampson and Isabella Primrose

Congratulations to the winning team and to all our YD sailors who competed. A special mention to Commodore Julia Hornsby, who joined the team for the weekend.

Good luck to Isabella Holdsworth and Juliet Costanzo and teams representing RPAYC in this weekend's John Messenger Women's Match Racing Championship hosted by the CYCA.

The John Messenger Women’s Match Racing Regatta has been conducted annually since 1996 and is open to female teams of 4 or 5 sailors. This year the regatta will be a World Sailing Grade 3 event.

The event is supported by CYCA Member Margot Connors with up to 10 teams invited to compete. In 2018, the trophy was rededicated as the John Messenger Trophy after John sadly passed away in September 2017. John was a proud CYCA Member and was dedicated to the sport of sailing and to this Club – championing both the CYCA’s Youth and Women’s programs.
