Meet Your 2026 CCO Staff! As you begin your journey, know that our cadre and staff are eager to guide, mentor, and challenge you as you grow into confident leaders. This orientation marks the start of your Air Force story, and we’re proud to have you join the team.
First off is our CCO commander, Cadet Heidi Tanudjaja. C/Tanudjaja is a nursing major from James Madison University. Outside of AFROTC, C/Tanudjaja likes to run, spend time with her friends, and enjoy the outdoors. C/Tanudjaja has been selected for the 46N AFSC, Nursing!
Next, we have the Deputy CCO Commander, Cadet Mikki Suraphel. C/Suraphel is a government major from the University of Virginia. She enjoys performative snowboarding, playing guitar, and “enthusiastic patron of Mariscos El Barco” (ask her about it). After this year, C/Suraphel will be starting Combat Systems Officer school.
Introducing CCO’s In-processing officer, Cadet Sam Price. C/Price is a Biomedical Engineering major from the University of Virginia. Outside of AFROTC, he enjoys volunteering, and chefing in up in the kitchen. Following this year, he’ll be attending Combat Systems Officer School.
Cadet Tessa Joseph is the UVA CCO Commander. She’s a double major in politics and computer science at the University of Virginia. When she’s not working with the detachment, she enjoys running and singing.
Our JMU CCO Commander is Ryan Nguyen, a Kinesiology major. When he’s not planning CCO events, C/Nguyen is the JMU Brazilian Jiu-Jujitsu (BJJ) Vice President! He also enjoys working out and learning about planes.
Next is the University of Virgina’s Deputy CCO Commander, Cadet Jason Lee. C/Lee is studying Psychology. Outside of AFROTC, C/Lee spends his time on the golf course.
Lastly, we have the JMU Deputy CCO Commander, Cadet Ryan Barkley. C/Barkley is a Sports and Recreation Management major from James Madison University. When not in uniform, C/Barkley spends his time running, playing golf, playing videogames, and hanging out with his awesome roommates!
