Exactly one week before my accident I won this Elementary on Zebedee, the dreamiest 5 year old. Now I am fixed and fit I can watch this video with a smile knowing that I will be back out again soon. Horses + hope = happiness 😊

I have had lots of new likes on this page this week and do nothing with it, so I think now is the time to rectify that. Here is a video from my last lesson with Bloobs where we are playing with the changes. I already popped it up on my personal page.

I am really pleased with how Bloobs has developed over the last few months. My next task is to develop his confidence in a competition environment so he can relax and enjoy himself.

The decision to ride at the moment is a very personal one. Many people with older horses are choosing to keep going, because if they stop, their horses welfare will be detrimentally affected. I myself have a 21 year old horse (pictured) who refuses to retire from his dressage training. My top tip to people is to use the walk to strengthen and supple. I do a lot of this with clients, it is a bit like horse yoga. Use circles of different sizes, serpentines, leg yield on different lines and play with changing the bend. Why not set yourself the challenge of teaching shoulder in and travers, before building up to half pass? Walk is the perfect pace to teach these movements in and there are loads of good videos on You Tube to help you. Take care everyone.
