12/08/2026
Written during the Solar eclipse today 8/12/2026 as it was happening….. Not what I expected.
Two lights join—
One but a reflection of the other.
They pass together, and in a moment,
The greater light beams its luminescence
To the reflected one.
Its rays reach across the dragon’s tail;
It quivers and shakes.
The individual, the individuated,
Shining in all its glory,
Plants the kiss of kisses in the lion’s den—
One touch that reverberates outward,
A kiss that reverberates like a plucked string,
A tuned chord echo's a rhythmic chant.
The dragon’s head turns to look,
Its tail quivering to a familiar refrain.
Yea, yea, yea—
Shine, illuminate all you have been,
All you plan to be;
Bask in the light, be it false or bright.
The dragon chomps its hungry jaws gently in anticipation.
“You are but one of many,” it says,
As it readies itself to feed on the hubris of the solo-flighted.
The Declaration of Independence falls like rotten wood.
The dragon slicks its tail,
Giving the kissing luminaries a ride,
As it waits for the declaration of interdependence
It is truly hungry for.
