NEWCASTLE WILLIAMTOWN AIR SHOW 2023
Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 November
Don't wing it! Plan your travel arrangements.
Up, up and away!! Calling all plane-spotters out there!
This event is always great fun. There could be a whopping 100,000 people attending this year!
🛩Saturday 18 November – Flying display in Newcastle (non-ticketed free event) featuring RAAF aircraft over the water at Newcastle’s Nobby’s Beach and the Hunter River Foreshore Park.
2 flying sessions:
10am – 12.30pm and
1.30pm – 4pm
See formation and aerial exhibitions by the RAAF showcasing current aircraft and some historic aircraft from No. 100 Squadron such as:
F-35A Lightning II
E-7A Wedgetail
F/A-18F Super Hornet
EA-18G Growler
C-17A Globemaster III
C-27J Spartan
KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport
Air Force Roulettes
P-8A Poseidon
C-130J Hercules
What a lineup! The RAAF suggests that this event could become the largest single day event in the region - ever!
So, think carefully about your travel arrangements. If you have to drive, consider using the Park & Ride option at McDonald Jones Stadium (parking at the venue is limited). Take advantage of public transport into the Newcastle CBD - there will be heavy traffic and road closures.
However, you can access extended transport services running throughout the day - extra trains (from Sydney, Central Coast and Hunter Line), ferry (7am - 7pm), bus and light rail services (every 7.5 minutes) will be offered.
Maybe even go around to Stockton, which might be a little less busy
🛩Sunday 19 November – RAAF Base Williamtown Open Day (ticketed event)
Ground displays and a range of military capabilities from across the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and the aviation sector.
Get up close and personal with RAAF aircraft and meet the talented people who operate, maintain and support the aircraft and the many other ADF capabilities.
