✨ Some words of advice to my 45yr old self…

Perimenopause hit me out of nowhere.
I had my child late in life,
thought I was still struggling post-natally,
and feeling displaced after moving overseas…

But I didn’t know then, what I know now.

So here’s some reflections which I share in the hope to help and inspire other midlife women

So proud of how far I’ve come and what I’m still becoming 💪

Incorporating Key Functional Movements into your weekly sessions is such an essential part of training at any age, but even more so in midlife.

Here’s a quick at the lunge movement pattern and why I love incorporating them into both my own and my clients workouts….

The lunges helps us
- pick things up off the floor with ease
- get up and down pain free
- walk and even run up and down stairs
- helps with our balance and stability

🌸 Midlife has taught me that thriving looks different now — and that’s a good thing

💪 Lifting heavier, not stressing over the number on a scale
🥗 Eating to reduce inflammation, not restriction to reduce bloating and weight gain
🧘‍♀️ Focusing on functional mobility and agility so I can remain confident to move well for decades to come

Here’s to redefining what strength and health mean in this season of life and doing the best I can to feel energised and confident

👉 Drop me a ❤️ if you agree!

💕October may almost be over, but I’m just taking a moment to break from my usual colour tones and support Breast Cancer Awareness month with a bit of ‘pink’ 🩷

👟💕 Earlier in the month I was able to join the to complete a 5km walk together with the most special group of active mums, dads and some kids too from our International School here in SG to support raising funds for Breast Cancer research and prevention.

💕 Survival rates have increased immensely and it’s largely due to the ongoing research and prevention work - there’s still so much to do, so let’s continue to kick breast cancer in the butt!!

👉 Before the month is over, please consider making a donation to support Breast Cancer Research and Prevention if you haven’t already done so 🙏

💫 3 lessons I learned the hard way (so you don’t have to) 👇

1️⃣ Skipping breakfast before working out
I used to think fasted workouts were the “secret” to burning fat… but instead, my cortisol (stress hormone) was through the roof. I felt anxious, bloated, and exhausted all day. Once I started eating a small amount of protein before my workout — my energy, focus, and recovery completely changed. Fuel = better performance.

2️⃣ Undereating was leading to weight gain
I trained on the ‘move more, eat less’ theory for years…. but my metabolism slowed down, and my body held on to everything. I was constantly tired, craving sugar, and frustrated that my hard work wasn’t showing. When I finally increased my calories with protein, fibre and carbs, I started feeling alive again — and that’s when my body started to change.

3️⃣ Sleep and recovery are just as important as my workouts
I used to wear “no days off” like a badge of honor. Now I know: your muscles don’t grow in the gym — they grow when you rest. Prioritizing 7–9 hours of sleep, active recovery, and stress management made all the difference in my progress and mindset.
These shifts helped with not just body shape — they balanced my hormones, boosted my energy, and gave me a healthier relationship with fitness 🧠💪

If you’re stuck or feeling burnt out, maybe it’s not about doing more… maybe it’s about doing better 💫

👋 Hey friends, It’s been a while since I introduced myself and I am feeling a bit chatty!

I’m Di (some call me Dee)… I’m a Women’s Fitness Trainer, Wellness and Menopause Coach.

👦 I have a son who is obsessed with all things Dinos & Dragons, plus I have a cute little Cavoodle ‘fur baby’ to keep me on my toes 🐶

🇸🇬🇦🇺 I’m based in Singapore and originally hail from Sydney, Australia … spent 2yrs in New York and have lived abroad for more than 9yrs now.

🤸 My favourite form of exercise is Strength Training which I do 4 days a week. I love staying healthy in both body & mind for quality of life, and I am passionate about helping other midlife women do the same.

🎬🎵My current fave show is White Lotus and my playlist is a rotation of Taylor Swift, Benson Boome and Imagine Dragons.

🤔💭 One thing that causes me to run a million miles away is ‘ageist comments’ around women in midlife being thought of as ‘past their use by date’ or ‘too old’ to make changes in their life for the better.

So that’s a bit about me…

☝️Now it’s your turn - tell me about you….
1. Where in the world are you based?
2. What’s your fave form of exercise?
3. Do we have anything in common?

A little bit of MAY to reflect on… progress and heart filled things 💕❤️
