Holy s**t it was like watching Villa last night in super cup final. A 2-1 loss but a game of endless chances that we just couldn't put away. Absolutely nothing but positives positives from tonight. A totally new approach to way we play, after the heavy loss last week with no team I want to thank all players tonight for their incredible effort and non stop desire to keep going. As always we learn and we move onto next week 💪

Not all dreams come true, but it's a game of football, that's all it is. In the home of Football we decided to play the worst game of football we have played all season. Unfortunately the basics went out the window and we weren't unable to string passes together like we usually do with ease. We lost our keeper in second half to a bad injury we hope your OK Aaron Conway, well done to my scorers N***y Mc Guinness and Durosimi Olawale. Congrats to Muirhevna Mor FC who were fully deserving winners on the night as they lifted the Clancy Cup for the 14th time. Despite the shocking lack of any build up from the league whatsoever all week for this final, as a club we want to thank Auto Assure Ltd for the incredible effort put in on the build up with so many posts covering each team during the week, all their work on the night too bringing so much of the game to social media, for people it was amazing. A huge thank you to all people who came up to support the team means so much to me and all the players. And lastly for the players, thank you for bringing us back from the brink at one stage this season and taking us to a Clancy Cup final. It wasn't meant to be this time but as always, we learn and we move on

So having looked at the level of quality available on the Muirhevna Mor team, lets look at the players who will be looking to make their mark tonight for in tonights .and.district.league Auto Assure Ltd Clancy Cup Final. Celebrating their 20th year, manager Kieran Pickering is determined to end it with silver ware. With a mix of experience, energy and some new additions to the squad, we have chosen some of the players to watch for tonight's game.

Firstly, we have a man very well known in Dundalk footballing circles, a mid-field maestro, Stephen Cooney. Stephen is known for his great feet and vision on the ball. Has chipped in with a few goals this season too, and will be looking to get on the ball to supply the top scorer Sean Bailey up top.

Next, we look to Niall Ferguson, already a Clancy Cup winner with Ramparts, he is playing more recently from left back, but definitely not afraid to overlap the winger. He has contributed a serious amount of assists and will be looking to add to that tonight.

In front of Fergie on the wing is Ryan "Squeaks" Watters. Having one of his best seasons so far, he has chipped in 6 goals and a number of assists from the left wing. His "never stop" attitude has rightfully earned him his place tonight. Not only that, he has twice been called to step into nets, and has stood up to the challenge.

And last, but not least, another well known name on the Dundalk football circuit, Aidan "N***y" McGuinness. Comfortable in any position, he is versatile and also a goal threat. N***y is a commanding presence in the air both defensively and up front, and not sure if he has ever gone a season without being named on the score sheet a number of times.

The lads will be joined with a mix of experience from their current squad, and some energy and strength through their new squad players added this season. Wishing Kieran and Rampart Celtic the very best of luck tonight as they aim for their 3rd Clancy Cup

Tonight we compete in our 3rd ever Clancy Cup final vs one of if not the most successful club to ever play in our leagues Muirhevna Mor FC .

Kick off is 7.30 in the home of Football Oriel Park. €5 admission for adults.

Wasn't too long ago this season that we weren't sure what future would hold, but every player stuck together and are fully deserving of a cup final in Oriel Park.

We will give all we can to take it home with us tonight, if able to pop up and support the lads it would be massively appreciated.

25/07/2026

On the eve of Cup Final Day, let us take a look at the most important men on the day. The net minders. Always the last line of defence, the goalkeeper burdens most of the blame if a goal is conceded. A tough spot to play, and generally you can go from hero to zero with a simple deflection of the ball.

Muirhevna Mór Fc have been using two keepers during their Dundalk & District League campaign, both with youth on their side. Two young goalkeepers who will relish the chance to play in Oriel Park, and will join a very experienced Muirhevna Mor side, who are well used to lifting trophies 💪🏆 A tough call for managers Mulvenna and O'Connor tomorrow as they need to choose between Adham O'Connor and Tiarnan McElroy... Both are well capable so we wait and see tomorrows team sheet 🧤

For Rampart Celtic FC manager Kieran Pickering has a slightly easier decision to make, as veteran Paul O'Hagan is suspended due to an unfortunate red card in their league game earlier this week. Having a solid season so far is Aaron Conway who will likely land between the sticks for tomorrows decider. Looking forward to one hell of a game tomorrow, with the public so far showing this, very much a 50:50 game ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Lets go Sean Bailey ⚽⚽⚽⚽

As we build up to tomorrows Dundalk & District League Auto Assure Clancy Cup Final, let's look at the two most in form strikers in the clash 💪⚽️ Sean Bailey has been finding the net fairly regular for Rampart Celtic FC since returning from a horrendous knee injury. No denying this mans eye for goal. He sits on 12 goals for the season despite missing a lot of the earlier league games.

And just behind him, a man who never seems to be off form. A permanent fixture on the Dundalk football scene, and a baller in every position. Mickey O'Kane has netted 11 times for the mighty Muirhevna Mór Fc ⚽️💪

Not forgetting the other goal threats on the pitch from Muirhevna Mor in Lucasz Silva and Colm Bracken, both with 6 a piece and Ramparts with Ryan Watters on 5 despite doing a wee stint in goals last week as well 🙌

Kick off tomorrow @ 7.30pm in the Home of Football - Oriel Park. Who ya got?? 👀
