【NCKU Formula Racing | Intro.】

NCKU Formula Racing was founded by a group of college engineering enthusiasts in 2018. We plan, design, and construct our own racing car by combing knowledge of the various fields, aiming to compete in Formula SAE Japan and to present our skills to the world. NCKU Formula Racing is the fifth team from Taiwan to participate in the competition, as well as the second

team to pass all the technical inspection. The purpose of NCKU Formula Racing is not only to participate in the international competition but also to build a channel for industry-academia collaboration. We hope to cooperate with multi-discipline companies, to rejuvenate the Taiwanese electric car industry.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Frando Brake Systems for providing critical components for our braking system, including master cylinders, radial calipers, and braided brake lines. Both the products and their packaging exhibit exceptional aesthetic craftsmanship, enabling us to build a braking system that seamlessly combines visual appeal with high practicality. This system plays a vital role in passing the brake test and maximizing vehicle dynamic control in the Formula SAE competition.
Established in 2008, Frando Brake System officially launched its independent brand "Frando" in Taiwan in 2009. Specializing in the development and design of comprehensive braking systems for automobiles and motorcycles, the company has also actively invested in automotive brake systems and touring car motorsports. Frando consistently adheres to its core philosophy of "Aesthetics and Performance" and its vision of "Finer and Higher Quality." In addition to building products with high reliability and safety, they are dedicated to providing users with a braking experience that integrates ultimate aesthetics with outstanding performance.

【CK07 研發日記 - 2】

在 2026 年的第一季，是成大方程式賽車隊前往比賽的關鍵期。車隊任務聚焦在推進新車 CK07 設計與製造、積極拜訪廠商與賽事籌備。

為了支援高壓系統測試需求，以及準備汰換漏水且製冷效率下降的冷氣，進行了工作室電力拉線工程與環境改善。Sonic 贊助全新的系統櫃並提供工作室規劃建議，使團隊得以利用這次機會重新整理與優化工作室佈局，提升工作效率與設備管理。

除此之外，賽車隊也開始進行季刊發佈，定期整理製造進度與車隊動態，我們希望能以更透明、更專業的方式，將成果呈現給所有合作夥伴與支持者。

【CK07 Dev Log 02】

The first quarter of 2026 is a critical period for our journey toward the competition. The team's mission is focused on advancing the design and manufacturing of the new car, CK07, actively visiting sponsors, and preparing for the event.

To support high-voltage system testing requirements and to prepare for the replacement of the leaking and inefficient air conditioning, we conducted electrical rewiring and environmental improvements in the workshop. Sonic sponsored brand-new modular cabinetry and provided workshop planning advice, allowing the team to take this opportunity to reorganize and optimize the workshop layout, enhancing work efficiency and equipment management.

In addition, the racing team has begun publishing a quarterly newsletter, periodically organizing manufacturing progress and team updates. We hope to present our achievements to all partners and supporters in a more transparent and professional manner.

In the next post, we will take you inside the technical group to explore the details of the CK07 development.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to KUANI GEAR Co., LTD for their invaluable technical support and knowledge transfer in CNC machining, which significantly contributed to the production of our aluminum components, including pedal bases, A-arm joints, and wheel faces. These parts play a critical role in our racing car’s suspension, steering, and braking systems. Their rapid prototyping capabilities and exceptional machining precision have been a key driving force behind our continuous progress.

KUANI began as a parts manufacturing contractor in the 1980s, expanded into pneumatic tools in 1985, and successfully developed Taiwan’s first professional-grade twin hammer air impact wrench in 1989. Today, by integrating its eight business divisions and satellite factory system, KUANI places health and safety at its core while leveraging outstanding manufacturing capabilities, continuous innovation, and vertical integration to deliver high-quality, cost-effective products and services. 【CK07 研發日記 - 1】

上個月，我們前往 Diodes Incorporated 位於新北的分公司總部，進行了新一代賽車 CK07 電池系統的充放電測試！

為了備戰 8 月份的 Formula SAE Japan (FSAE-J) 日本學生方程式賽車大賽，電池模組的穩定與安全是不可或缺的一部分。感謝 Diodes 公司大力支持，開放了專業的高功率實驗室，並提供先進的雙向直流電源供應器與熱影像儀，讓我們能模擬在賽道的高強度負載下，驗證電池模組的散熱效能。

透過這次與業界工程師的交流，我們不僅獲得了珍貴的實測數據，更深入了解了電子元件在極端環境下的熱管理邏輯，再次感謝 Diodes 公司與我們並肩作戰。

Last month, we visited Diodes Incorporated in New Taipei City for a critical testing phse of our new electrical system!

As we prepare for the Formula SAE Japan (FSAEJ) competition this August, ensuring the stability and safety of our battery module is our top priority. We are grateful to Diodes for opening their high-power labs and providing access to advanced Source/Sink systems and thermal imaging tools. This allowed us to precisely validate the performance and thermal stability of our battery module under race-level conditions.

Through this collaboration, our team gained invaluable real-world data and insights into thermal management for power electronics. Thank you, Diodes Incorporated, for supporting student innovation and helping us push our boundaries as we head toward the international stage!
