MOSHI KHALSA CLINCHED THE NATIONAL HOCKEY TITLE

Moshi khalsa entered the finals of mapinduzi hockey tournament after edging out Arusha Twigas by 1-0 in one of the tough semi finals game. It was see saw affairs whereby both teams were equally strong. In the last quarter, moshi khalsa sealed their ticket to final.

Where as another semi finals game between TPDF and Tanga Stars, the home team managed to put up extra strong efforts and did not let the defending champions TPDF to score any goals. Both teams missed many goals and eventually the game ended in draw. In a penalty stroke competition, TPDF took the lead in scoring and eventually managed to win by 3 – 1 against Tanga Stars in penalties.

The final game between moshi khalsa and tpdf started on fast pace and both teams which had played earlier against eachother knew game tempo. However, it was moshi khalsa who opened the score board in the 35th minute through Karitus Themison. The same player managed to score hat trick in 40th min, 57th min and 60th min. The final score was in favour of moshi khalsa 4- 0. However, Tpdf played an excellent game by putting extra efforts but couldnot opened the score board. Thus the final whistle saw Moshi Khalsa became the new champions for the year 2026.

5 teams would be vying for the National Hockey title for 2026 in Tanga.

Mapinduzi Hockey Tournament which is scheduled to start from 27th upto 29th March, at Annadil Burhani complex in Tanga.

Last edition, TPDF took the crown after defeating Moshi Khalsa in a equally contested game.

At the same time, 3 ladies teams would be playing on a round robin 7 a side event.

TPDF CLINCHED NANE NANE HOCKEY CUP FOR THE 2ND CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Final match which saw Tpdf and Moshi Khalsa tie 1 - 1 which made them to go for penalties flicks. Tpdf managed to win 4- 3 against Moshi Khalsa.

To enter finals, Favorites TPDF beat BLack Mambaz by 2 - 0, while Moshi Khalsa beat Arusha Twigas on penalties in the semi final games.

In ladies event, Twende B won against Tpdf by 4 - 3

All the finalist teams were awarded glitering trophies and medals along with a set of jerseys.

Total of 7 Mens and 3 womens teams took part in the event.

The said prestigious 3rd edition of nane nane tournament was organised by Black Mambaz club under the banner of Tanzania Hockey Association.
