Among the common mistakes of amateur runners there is the pace strategy during recovery runs. Training with a power meter could help a lot to understand which effort zone is the most appropriate to avoid overtraining. I use the Stryd power meter since its beginnings and I found a trustful training partner, even better than HR monitoring.
