TIBC2025 WRAP-UP
Overview
TIBC2025, held at Trevallyn Bowls Club, has surpassed all our previous events in both size and success. We are absolutely thrilled with how this year’s tournament unfolded and the milestones we’ve achieved.

The Purpose of TIBC
The Tasmanian International Bowls Classic (TIBC) is more than just a sporting event. Our aims this year included:
• Giving Tasmanian bowlers the chance to compete against some of the world’s best players.
• Raising funds for our chosen charity, Love Your Sister. This year, we collected a total of $1,375, which was generously rounded up to $2,000 by a supporter.
• Generating revenue for the host club, Trevallyn Bowls Club, and recognising the hard work of volunteers with tangible financial rewards.
• Supporting other local clubs, including Kings Meadows Bowls Club, Longford Bowls Club, Kingborough Bowls Club, and Burnie Bowls Club, through additional revenue opportunities.
• Introducing the sport of bowls to people who may not have played before.
• Providing spectators the unique experience of watching top-tier players in action and meeting the stars of the game.
• Ensuring that every aspect of the event remains affordable for all involved.

2025 Achievements
We are proud to say that we accomplished all of these goals and more in 2025. Notably, every one of the 14 rounds was live streamed, allowing a global audience to tune in. Our social media presence grew dramatically, with page views and reach increasing by 700% to a total audience of 330,000. Viewers joined us from across the globe, including the UK, New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Canada, Ireland, and the USA.

Acknowledgements
This world-class event would not have been possible without the dedication of so many people. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved: the organising committee, markers, volunteers, spectators, kitchen helpers, bar staff, greenkeeper, players, and sponsors. Your collective effort made the event a standout success, with the next tournament already scheduled for 2–5 October next year.

DYLAN FISHER CROWNED KING OF TREVALLYN IN MASTERFUL GRAND FINAL DISPLAY
In a performance that will be spoken about for years to come, Dylan Fisher has been crowned the 2025 Tasmanian International Bowls Classic champion, delivering a display of near-flawless drawing to claim a resounding 18-2 victory over Michael Sims.

From the first bowl to the last, the final was a masterclass from the newly-appointed Trevallyn Bowls Club coach. Fisher was simply unstoppable, building an astonishing 16-1 lead after nine ends in a devastating exhibition of precision. Every draw seemed to find its target, every weight was perfect, leaving his opponent with no room to breathe and few opportunities to counter.

For Michael Sims, a member who began his bowling journey on these very greens, the final was a story of immense frustration. After a brilliant tournament that saw him defeat giants like Jack McShane in a semi-final thriller, his game deserted him on the biggest stage. His solitary point in the early ends was met with a raised arm, less a celebration and more an acknowledgment of a battle slipping away against an opponent in irresistible form.

The 18-2 scoreline, sealed with one final shot from Fisher, marks one of the most dominant victories in the tournament's history. This sets up a fascinating final, not just for the title, but for the savvy bidders from Friday night's Calcutta auction. The clash is a classic case of marquee investment versus a value buy that has paid off in spades.

Dylan Fisher was purchased for $900. As a highly decorated marquee player, his price reflected his proven quality, and he has delivered on that investment spectacularly.

TOP SEED BOWS OUT AS SEMI-FINALS ARE SET AT TASSIE CLASSIC
The quarter-finals of the Tasmanian International Bowls Classic delivered a perfect blend of high-stakes drama and brilliant individual performances, setting up two tantalising semi-final clashes for this afternoon.

McShane's Class Ends Marshall's Dream Run

In a match that pitted the tournament's form player against its local hero, Jack McShane demonstrated his national class with a commanding 14-6 victory over Codi Marshall. McShane found another gear after a tight start, turning a 2-2 tie into a dominant 12-2 lead after eight ends. While Marshall mounted a brave fightback that showcased why he's been the story of the tournament, the deficit proved too great against an opponent of McShane's calibre. The victory confirms McShane's status as a firm title favourite.

The final round of sectional play at the Tasmanian International Bowls Classic is complete, and what a rollercoaster it was! After 12 gruelling rounds, the Top 8 has been decided, setting the stage for a spectacular knockout finale this afternoon.

The tension was palpable as the final ends were played out, with several bowlers fighting for their tournament lives.

In a stunning display of power, Michael Sims sealed his finals berth in the most emphatic way possible, posting a massive 23-1 victory to rocket into fourth place on the ladder. Trace Stewart also delivered under pressure, winning 19-5 to force a tie for fifth place, ultimately securing his spot with a superior shots-up count over Robert McMullen.

What a spectacular day of bowls we are witnessing! The tenth round of the Tasmanian International Bowls Classic has concluded, and the race for the finals is even more intense than we thought. With two full rounds remaining—and crucial games in hand for many—the battle for the Top 8 is a wide-open thriller where almost anything can happen.

The Front-Runners Strengthen Their Grip

While no one has officially booked their ticket yet, a few players have put themselves in a commanding position.

Codi Marshall was simply dominant, posting a massive 22-2 win to cement his place at the top of the ladder.

Dylan Fisher fought hard for a 17-7 victory to solidify his spot in second.

Jack McShane showed his champion qualities, trailing 5-8 before winning the last four ends to clinch an 18.5-5.5 win.

These three have one hand on a finals berth, but with two rounds to go, nothing is guaranteed.

The Logjam: A Dozen Bowlers Chasing Five Spots

The real drama is unfolding just below them. While Amity Bickley (4th) and Mathew Pietersen (5th) are in a fantastic position, they cannot afford a slip-up.
