✨ Yeah the girls + stirrers! ✨

Finally… I’m BACK in MY tank, with my own number again! It’s been a few seasons since I’ve raced under 72B, so it felt pretty bloody good to have it back where it belongs… exactly how it should be 🤣

This meeting was a bit of a full circle moment for me. I’ll always remember sitting in the stands between the pits and “Chixieland” with my sister, supporting our brother racing ministocks. I would look forward to watching Mike Mac out there being an absolute menace on the track and from that moment on, I knew I wanted to be just like that when I made it to the other side of the fence. Safe to say… mission understood 😆

From race one, I went out with one mindset… play stockcars. All three races, that’s exactly what I did… and holy s**t was it FUN. The track was absolute chaos and the crowd definitely got their money’s worth! And I must say, I’ve had my fair share of “I didn’t want to hit you cause you’re a girl” 🙃🤨 so I really appreciated the drivers who didn’t back down and were happy to play stockcars with me too 🤝

Heading into Heat 3, I knew I had to at least try take out an out of town car (and maybe stop picking on the locals for a second 😅). I knew who was up there on points and gave it everything and it worked! Made the tank do tank things and managed to help my girl Courtney with the race win AND 3rd on the podium 🙌🏼Very proud of myself for not accidentally taking her out… and even prouder of Courtney for some unreal pedalling (with a bit of stirring thrown in too 😏).

It was a big learning curve for me. I was actually pretty surprised with how well I went, considering it’s been a hot minute since I’ve raced the tank. There were definitely a few mixed emotions, and I know it’s all part of stockcar racing, but I can’t help feeling a bit bad knowing I ruined someone’s shot at a podium. BUT… I also know I need to toughen up a bit! It’s a contact class and others won’t think twice before doing the same to me 😆 So maybe it’s time I stop being such a softy (slightly ironic, I know). I’m looking forward to receiving paybacks from Leroy and Josh 😆

And I guess the effort didn’t go unnoticed…
Stirrers Prize for the night 🥊 Pretty stoked with that one! I just hope Mike Mac is proud of me 😅

I think the tank has definitely earned herself a bit of TLC over the off-season… as she deserves!
She’s done a bloody good job and I’m pretty proud of her (especially with the way Gibbo and I treat her 🤣).

✨ Thank You ✨
Big thanks to my crew Gibbo and James for dealing with the damage I caused 😬 and Krystal for belting me in! Aswell as Nina, Shavy and the O’Rileys for taking care of Ruby whilst mum was on the track being a “bully” 🤣

Also a big thanks to Jesse for sorting me out with some fresh 72B stickers, and for the “Brontie” visor. The name Mike Wilson gave me over the speakers for my first two seasons that’s somehow stuck with me ever since 🤣

And a special thank you from me, to Maru Goodley for working alongside me this season and supplying such epic photos for my logos and programme cover designs for the club. You’re a legend!

A recap of Gibbo’s season to come 🏁

It’s been a minute since our last update and honestly, life has been BUSY 😅 Gibbo’s been flat out being boss man, Ruby has turned ONE (😭), Brytnie has FINALLY headed back to work, Ruby has started daycare… and of course brought home the daycare bugs that hit Brytnie twice in 4 weeks 🫠 if you couldn’t tell already, it’s been a little chaotic behind the scenes!

🏁 Long Overdue Update 🏁
Even with all that going on, there’s still been plenty of racing squeezed in. A few championships and a few teams races as well, safe to say Gibbo and the tank have been putting in the mahi both on and off the track. Teams racing might not have gone the way we’d hoped this season, but that’s racing. We take the lessons, regroup, and come back stronger, the Maulers will be back, no doubt about it 💪 On the individual side though… it’s been a different story. The tank has been loving life doing tank things, and last meeting at the East Coast Champs definitely delivered! A bit of bumper action from everyone was pretty entertaining to watch!

🏁 What’s Next 🏁
Now it’s time to get the tank ready for her final meeting of the season, the Kuru Cup at Meeanee! BUT… there’s a bit of debate going on in the household 👀 Who’s taking the hot seat for this one?! Could we be seeing 72B back where it rightfully belongs on the side of the tank? 😉 Guess we’ll find out who wins that argument come the 18th of April 😆

But for now, enjoy this clip captured by Trackside Snippets of Gibbo… doing Gibbo things?? 🥴

And of course, as always! A massive thank you to our crew and sponsors who never fail to support us throughout the season 🛠️

✨ Full Throttle Females
Two cars, two hot seats, two absolute gremlins unleashed on the track 🤣

Gibbo jumped into the 9R Streetstock for the first time. He reckons it was one hell of an arm workout with the steering, but he still managed to wheel it like a champ and put the bumper to good use (shocking, we know!) Would be awesome to see Gibbo line up for the Pam Gibson Memorial Trophy in the Streetstock class, considering he carries her name! 🕊️

Brytnie hopped into the 75B Stockcar with two very simple goals:
🏁 Qualify for the Top 10 Dash
🏁 Have fun
And she nailed both. She described racing Leroy’s car as “UNREAL” and didn’t want to give the car back 😅 The power, the control, the handling… once she got the feel for it, there was absolutely no slowing her down. Well… until the last race 😅 Brytnie decided to show Gibbo he’s not the only one in this household that can put on a show in stockcars! So for the final race she set out to have some fun, taking on not one, but two out of town cars. One went to the wall, the other clipped her wheel at just the right moment, and up and over she went… Brytnie’s first official rollover ticked off the bucket list! She hopped out of the car grinning from ear to ear, throwing a massive celebration at her crew who were cheering back! But the moment that topped her entire night was a big high five from Leroy back in the pits, the ultimate “yep, you did good” 🤣

✨ Huge Thanks
The biggest thank you goes to Leroy and Phil for trusting two absolute meatheads with their cars for the night. Such a privilege for us to have experienced two top of the line cars!

Another massive shoutout to Krystal, who took the best care of Ruby so Mum and Dad could go racing. The whole night was a breeze knowing Ruby was chilling with her Aunty Black ❤️

And a special mention to Brytnie’s best pair Ministock 4B Sophie Ryan. Nervous as anything before she went out, but she did Brytnie proud and we’ll be cheering her on all season long! 🤩

✨ What’s Next
The tank is suiting up in her Meeanee Maulers kit and ready for tomorrow night’s teams racing against the Waikato Raiders, a team we always love going head to head with!

Huge thank you to James, Fluff, Flynn and Leroy for the massive effort getting the tank prepped for teams racing. And as always, thank you to our incredible crew and sponsors for backing us every step of the way:

And because Gibbo simply could not let Brytnie have her one night of racing to herself, he’s found himself a seat in a class he’s never raced before! Watch out Streetstocks… Gibbo will be having some fun in the 9R Phil McNamara Streetstock!

✨Opening Night✨
What a way to kick off the season! After a big off-season of fresh steel work and a new coat of paint, it felt bloody good to finally get the tank back out on track. The car looked mint and Gibbo settled in straight away… even after being sent full speed into the infield and narrowly missing the pace ute 🙃 Brytnie’s heart dropped lower than it did during his Peter Barry test flight, and that’s saying something!

✨Fireworks Night✨
Another solid night out. A few setup tweaks made the tank come alive, and Gibbo pulled off a tidy 6th in the first race. After that, Gibbo being Gibbo, he got a bit bored and decided to play stockcars, providing the crowd with the kind of entertainment they showed up for. Among the chaos, the tank ended up taking a decent knock and came away with a bit of damage, nothing we haven’t dealt with before! Repairs started the very next morning and are already halfway sorted. We’re on track to be back out there on the 29th of November.

✨What’s Next✨
Tomorrow’s meeting is a BIG one! Brytnie will be belting into 75B Leroy O’Riley’s stockcar for the Full Throttle Females championship at Meeanee! After a lot of convincing from Leroy, she finally accepted the challenge and is beyond excited (and slightly terrified) to jump behind the wheel of an absolute weapon of a car. A massive thank you to the O’Riley family for trusting her with it… even after witnessing her relentless driving style in her own tank. We are incredibly grateful, and Brytnie hopes she can do you proud 🥰

Big thanks, as always, to our crew, sponsors and supporters. We couldn’t do it without you all!
The season’s only just warming up… and the tank still has plenty of tank things left to do 🔥

🎨 Fresh season, fresh paint! 🎨
The tank has had a well deserved sandblast and paint thanks to Patton Blast & Paint, along with plenty of steel work and TLC over the off season.

Looking back, last season was a big one! Gibson took out the Huntly Teams Invasion with the Meeanee Maulers and even scored “Biggest Hit” with the shot that sealed the Maulers spot in the final. He also picked up the “Stockcars Hard Luck Trophy” and “Most Spectacular Crash” at the Meeanee Speedway prizegiving after his little test flight against the Palmerston North Pumas at the Peter Barry Teams Champs ✈️

This season, Brytnie is (mostly 😉) taking another season off, with a meeting here and there. With her first meeting out being the Full Throttle Females meeting in Meeanee next month! But in the meantime, she’s busy training up our new pit crew for when she jumps back behind the wheel.

Massive thanks to our pit crew James, Fluff (Chris) and Flynn, for the off season help on the tank, and of course to our awesome sponsors for their continued support, couldn’t do it without you all.

Bring on another season of the tank doing tank things!💥

From winning the Huntly Teams Champs to being named in the Maulers for both the NZ and Peter Barry Champs, it’s fair to say we’ve been a bit busy!

The tank has taken some damage over the past few months (Gibbo didn’t win “Biggest Stockcar Hit” at Huntly Teams for nothing!), but thankfully, we have an awesome crew who always get our girl race ready again!

Last meeting, Gibbo was kind enough to let the tank’s owner have a turn in her own car for two races. It’s been a while, but I’m sure the tank loved having Brytnie back behind the wheel! 😂 Gibbo jumped back in for heat 3 to make sure everything was good to go for MORE teams racing this weekend at Meeanee for the Peter Barry Stockcar Teams Champs!

We always look forward to this event, honoring the late Peter Barry, who without a doubt, was one of the best teams racers we’ve ever seen. We’re excited to support both the Maulers and the Roughies in what is always an action-packed championship!

A massive thank you to our crew, who put in endless hours getting the tank on track. With a special shoutout to James, who without fail, drops whatever he’s doing the second he hears Gibbo is in the shed working on the car! 😅

We’re always grateful for our sponsors, as well as the O’Riley and Swift families, who continue to help us with whatever we need to keep racing and traveling around the country!

See you this weekend at Meeanee!

⚫️🔴⚪️Final announcement for the year for the Maulers! What a season it has been.🔴⚪️⚫️

Huge thank you to all the drivers who have represented the Maulers this year. You all have represented the Maulers proudly and shown that in your racing. All your crew, friends and family working along side us. Without you all, racing couldn’t happen.

Huge shout out to manager Travis Dorward for stepping up and filling the shoes when it was needed.

Thank you to our sponsors! Your support to the team doesn’t go unnoticed and we all appreciate it immensely. Make sure to support local and pop in to see them.

Brytnie told Gibbo “make the tank do tank things!” And that’s exactly what he did! Gibbo and Tony Darroch had some classic stockcar fun in the feature race @ Meeanee for the fireworks meeting and put some entertainment on for the crowd. There’s nothing quite like watching stockcars hit each other 😅 Gibbo needed to put some teams racing practice in as he’s been named in the Meeanee Maulers to compete @ Huntly tonight for the 2J Engineering Stockcar Teams event. The Maulers face the Bulldogs for their first teams race of the season! Best of luck to the boys!

As always, a massive thank you to our sponsors and crew! As well as the Swift family for the use of their ute, trailer and their on going support! 👏🏼 let’s go teams racing 🏁

Off season is over, and the 24/25 season has officially kicked off for the mighty tank!

Gibbo has been busy in the shed this off season, welding a new side rail and tidying up the some steel work. However, we uncovered some nasty motor gremlins… a blown head gasket and a hole in one of the pistons! But fear not, a new motor is in, and she still roars with that grunty sound we love! 😍

Opening night on October 27th @ Meeanee didn’t go as planned. In the first race, Gibbo faced some communication issues. Second race, he was in the front of the pack, only to have his left front wheel taken out. Third race was a bit chaotic, with the first corner turning into a freight train that led the tank being put up the wall! But a huge thank you to the Dorward family for letting us use their paddock last night to test some teething issues! Fingers crossed everything is resolved in time for tomorrow night’s fireworks meeting @ Meeanee!

As always, a massive shoutout to our sponsors and crew. Your support is what keeps the tank on the track! Forever grateful! 🖤🤍❤️

In the meantime, here are some awesome pics that Brytnie took at the Peter Barry Stockcar Champs last season (and totally forgot to share 🫣). Huge thank you to Meeanee Speedway Club for the opportunity to let Brytnie take pics from the infield, and a shoutout to Wayne Stewart for the camera setup advice that proved super helpful!
