Today, our PCGSL 12u All-Stars battled until the very last pitch.
The final score may not have been what we hoped for, but let us be the first to say how incredibly proud we are of each and every one of you.
You gave us something far greater than a final score. You showed us what heart looks like. You never quit. You never stopped believing in one another. Every inning, every pitch, every outβyou gave everything you had. When the game ended, there was nothing left to give because you had left it all on the field.
But what made this team truly special wasn't just how hard you played. It was who you were.
You were humble in victory, gracious in defeat, kind to your opponents, respectful to the officials, thankful to your coaches, and unwavering in your support of one another. You represented Pitt County with a level of class that cannot be measured by trophies, banners, or wins and losses.
A moment does not define who you are.
A single game does not define who you are.
Your character, your effort, the way you treat others, and the way you carried yourselves throughout this journeyβthat is what defines you. And by that measure, you are already champions.
To our 12-year-olds, your Little League chapter may have come to an end, but your story is only just beginning. Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of your journey. Watching you grow from little girls into incredible young women has been one of the greatest privileges our league could ever ask for.
Years from now, the scores will fade and the tournament bracket will be forgotten. What won't be forgotten is the example you set, the memories you created, and the pride you brought to every person who had the privilege of cheering you on.
Thank you for reminding all of us what it truly means to wear "Pitt County" across your chest.
This is what it means to be a Pitt County All-Star.
