We’re looking for a volunteer Treasurer to add to our strong board of trustees!

In addition to the standard legal responsibilities of a Trustee, we are looking for candidates with experience in charity finance, fund accounting and Quickbooks.

New to being a Trustee but have experience in charity finance? It would still be great to hear from you!

We’re interested in the right person with the right skills - you don’t necessarily need to be based in the Highlands. Our meetings are four times a year, online or hybrid.

Keen? Email [email protected] by Sunday 22 February 2026 covering a bit about you, your experience and interests.

If you have any questions or want to find a wee bit more out - do reach out by email.

Do you know anyone that could maybe help us with a raffle prize as part of our festive fundraising mission? 🩵

To celebrate our first year and season of merging of Sutherland Adventure Company and Sutherland Girls on Boards, as a newly developed social enterprise and charity - Sutherland Adventure Company SCIO, we are celebrating with a festive raffle! We’d love you to join the adventure - and if you can, contribute a raffle prize to our luxury raffle.

We have Royal Marine Hotel, Brora as our headline prize, a night stay Bed & Breakfast - legends! Followed by a wonderful dinner for two at Links House, Dornoch.

Sutherland Adventure Company provides fully and partially funded outdoor opportunities for people in Sutherland, ensuring locals utilise the natural assets of the area. The social enterprise and charity undertakes all of the administration, marketing, funding, networking, social media and public relations on a voluntary basis, relying on funding to deliver community initiatives.

The board gathered for a strategy evening in September, identifying gaps within our overall operation. One of the areas that was identified is the lack of funding for day-to-day operations (that funders don’t typically fund) - hence this raffle. We are looking to fundraise to keep the van on the road, upgrade and maintain our website, contribute towards our insurance and licence costs. We are lucky that our overheads are relatively low - but these costs are unfortunately unavoidable in delivering paddle power across Sutherland.

We would be really so grateful for a raffle prize donation if you are able. Do let us know by the end of the month by messaging this page or emailing us on [email protected]. In return, under your guidance - we will very gladly publish your support via our Facebook and Instagram pages. The raffle will be drawn on Sunday 14 December 2025.

Keep en eye out for raffle tickets for sale!

SUTHERLAND BOYS ON BOARDS // Survey [5 mins max!].

⭐️⭐️ Thank you for all the responses so far - this is the last opportunity to complete! ⭐️⭐️

We’re (finally!) exploring the feasibility of developing a Sutherland Boys on Boards paddleboarding programme in Sutherland, and would love to hear your thoughts.

Can you believe Sutherland Girls on Boards is in its fifth season? Over the last five years, we’ve always had the question “Will you do something similar for men?” So, now is the time to properly establish the demand via the below survey. It shouldn’t take long to complete.

🏄We have been running some trial adult male sessions on Loch Brora with thanks to West of Orkney Windfarm for funding. Keep an eye out on Sutherland Adventure Company page for the next sessions. All kit is provided and they are fully funded.
