Dear Boys Soccer Families,
I am excited to announce that Tyler Turner has been selected as the next Head Coach of our Varsity Boys Soccer program.
Tyler brings an outstanding background as both a player and coach. As a player, he competed with the U.S. Youth National Teams, signed professionally with MLS Orlando City SC, spent time with the LA Galaxy, and enjoyed an eight-year professional career competing in the MLS, USL, and MASL. Throughout his career, he developed a deep understanding of the game at the highest levels.
Since transitioning into coaching, Tyler has worked with players of all ages and levels across the country, including coaching within elite youth programs, collegiate and professional levels. He currently serves as the Coaching Director for the Southington Soccer Club, where he has helped establish player development pathways and oversee programming from the youngest players through the club's travel teams.
I know it is short notice but we will be having a player / coach meeting tomorrow at 3:00 at Southington High School in Room 301. Please enter through the main office door. Players will have the opportunity to meet and talk to Coach Turner as we are less than a month away from the start of the season. Tyler is well aware families may be away on vacation tomorrow so some athletes may not be able to make the meeting. Parents will have their time to meet and talk to Tyler at our fall sports parent meeting on 8/31.
