The weather was glorious for the Great Southern Golf Association 4BBB Par Championship at Wagin on Saturday. With a healthy field of 76 people, there were soon balls flying all over the place, with the odd call of “FORE!” echoing amongst the trees.

Onto the serious stuff, and a serious result was dished up with Ken Adams & Rodney Shemeld from Wagin taking out the Championship with +9, yes, you read that right, +9 GROSS! Congratulations Gents. Runners-up were the consistent pairing from Narrogin in Brett Coxon & Wayne Palumbo, with +1. Williams pairing, Rodney Ford & Michael Gillet finished in 3rd with -1, with Wayne Byrne & Doug Smith from Katanning rounding out the prize paying positions with -2.

In the Nett, Wagin again at the front here, were Greg Stephens & Stuart Riseborough with an impressive +17 to take out the Nett trophy. Runners-up were Ricky Mott & Scott Jefferis from Dumbleyung with +16. Rodger Wotherspoon & Milton Keen from Boddington in 3rd with +14, and 4th on a countback from Cuballing were Ryland Paice & Ryan Harris with +11. Losers of that countback were Daniel McDougall & Lee Smith from Dumbleyung.

The 18 Hole Gross winners were Michael Kowald & Jash Shales from Katanning with -2
The 18 Hole Nett winners were Damien Stephens & Ryan Scardetta from Wagin with +10.

You can pencil these blokes into your book as the winners for next year, with a score so awesome that no one wanted to write it down, John Earnshaw & Vincent Fordham-Lamont from Darkan. (This award is more commonly referred to as the NAGA!)

A big thank you to Wagin for hosting the event! A big undertaking by all involved.

Finally, these events don’t happen without the support of sponsors, and we are very lucky to have a fantastic major sponsor for this event in Patmore Feeds. A very generous sponsor who continues to support our association year after year. To Dean and the team, Thank You!

This event will be held in Boddington next year.

See you all in Cuballing on the 11th July for the GSGA Championships & Stableford Shield.
