The Willacy County Youth Sports League recently hosted its End Of Season tournament basketball playoffs, featuring divisions in 6u, 8u, 10u, and 12u. To add an extra layer of excitement, each Head Coach was asked to select 2 team members to participate in the contests. The 10u & 12u divisions competed in the "3 Point Contest", while the 6u & 8u divisions participated in the "Free Throw Contest". All teams who participated in the tournament are posted below. Big thank you to everyone who helped make this possible.

The Willacy County Youth Sports League Basketball 2026 Season kicked off this past Saturday, unlocking a new chapter of growth, teamwork, and excitement for young athletes from Willacy County and surrounding communities. If you would like to bring in a team, please message us to get more work in. It’s about getting reps in and building them up before they get to middle school. Not all teams took photos, but it was a great weekend. We were busy certifying kids & didn’t get to take pics of all teams playing. The boys and girls had fun this weekend.

It’s cold outside. Games indoors on Saturdays. Looking for 1-2 more teams to join. All our teams started practicing last week. We have several teams signed on from the Willacy and Cameron County areas. Let’s get more girls and boys teams. Inbox us here for more info.

Basketball season started up this week for Willacy County Gators. Lots of conditioning. Learning to dribble as well. If you have a team who wants to join the season, reach out to us. We are getting schedule ready. Will give teams 2-3 weeks of practice.
