Another blessing from this injury - discovering the true power and potential of this beautiful machine.

Excited to use this machine more and see how far I can take it 🔥

Day 12 and it's better than it thought.

Still gunna take things very easy for the next few months as to give myself enough time to heal properly but things are looking good.

By far I'm most interested in exploring the 45 hyper extension and Jefferson curls especially the side bends.

Glad I that I've found some squatting and hinging patterns that feel good. Time to start slowly loading up.

If you're interested in seeing how I progress or looking for inspiration for your own rehab journey then follow along cus I'll be keeping y'all updated as things progress.

Peace ✌️

To be honest I feel like I've been very lucky. It could have been way worse. Excited to get back into the gym and start building up my strength again, slowly.

If you're on your own rehab journey then I think it's important not to get too attached to expected time frames on recovery. I'm also mentally preparing for small set backs and bumps a long the way. The first one being how I feel tomorrow...

The most important thing is to be curious, explore what you can do, train what you can, and know that the body is an incredible system that will heal itself if you give it time.

Next video will be on about Phase 2: repair and strengthen!

It's not that deep, but we can make it as complicated as we like so here goes...

Resistance profiles - a visual representation of how external factors like load, gravity, or body position can influence the difficulty of an exercise in certain portions of the movement.

Strength curves - a visual representation of how internal factors such as internal moment arms affect the difficulty of certains portions of a movement.

Moment arm - the perpendicular distance from a pivot point or axis of rotation to the of pulling or pushing force (line of action) usually gravity or a cable from a machine.

Torque - the rotational force that causes movement around an axis of rotation (a joint). More torque means more tension.

It's just basic physics.

Understanding how these things affect the stimulus you're giving your body will ultimately influence the results you get from the exercise and how you perform it.

If not you're not that serious about it, just flex your elbow hard and you'll be fine. If you want accurate results for specific goals then hopefully this will help.

Pro tip - it works for all muscles and movements... You can train any joint action you like, in any way you want.

So grateful for all the messages and comments that I've been getting from friends, coaches, physios, all wishing me a speedy recovery and offering advice and guidance. It's so great to know that all these people are in my corner. I appreciate you guys so much 🙏

Here's a message I sent to a coach who reached out and we where sharing our thoughts of injuries and recovery. I thought it might help some other people who are going through something similar.

You can get stronger, you can be better than before, you must stay positive and keep improving little by little.

Small steps back to full recovery. Let's gooooo! This happened way quicker than I thought it would.

A positive mental outlook is key. It's ok to get down about an injury, it's the normal response, but this profoundly deep belief that I'll be stronger than before soon enough is what fuels my recovery.

Goddamn it. I fu**ed up. Guess I'm saying goodbye to squat goals this year... It's rehab time 🤦

It's that simple.
