Hi Everyone,
My name is Gail Tanner and I live in the seaside community of Oakura, Taranaki. It is not only and idyllic spot, it is a fabulous environment for me to do what I am absolutely passionate about, and that's Genealogy!
Just to let you know a bit more about me. My skills as a Genealogist/Family Historian span 27 years, specialising in research from New Zealand, Australia and the UK. Another interest of mine is researching NZ WW1 and WW2 soldiers and documenting their stories.
By using your DNA test I can help you understand what everything means, help find unknown parents, and show you how DNA can help your genealogy journey. Another string to my bow is translating Old Documents, Wills and Certificates.
On my own Family Tree, I have traced back 7 generations on most lines with a couple back to the 9th generation. There is still plenty for me to do, tracing back as far as possible. It has been an amazing insight into my Ancestral Heritage and there has been plenty of surprises along the way!
As the Convenor of the New Plymouth Genealogy Society, I also run Beginners Classes for those that would like to do their own research, and I give talks on various Genealogy subjects to our own Society as well al other groups.
