Are you traveling to the US on a tourist visa? Learn more about the limitations of the B-1/B-2 visitor visas to ensure a smooth and lawful stay in the United States 🇺🇸

"The B-1 visa is intended for business visitors, while the B-2 visa is for tourists. However, neither visa category permits employment within the United States.

🏖Tourism: The B-1/B-2 visa allows you to stay in the U.S. for up to six months, making it ideal for attending a series of horse shows, a racing meet, or an event season.
🏆Competition: International equestrian athletes can compete in the U.S., as long as they are not employed by or receiving payment from a U.S. entity. Prize money is permissible, but you cannot accept any other form of compensation.
📑Business: Under a B-1/B-2 visa, you may engage in certain business-related activities, such as negotiating contracts related to the sale of a horse or attending professional seminars or conventions."

Myth Busters – Travel to the US with a B1/B2 Tourist Visa 🗽

👎Myth: I can work in the United States with my B1/B2 tourist visa.
👍Fact: Incorrect. You are not legally permitted to take a job—part time or full time—when visiting the United Stated on a tourist B1/B2 visa.

👎Myth: I can work remotely for an employer based outside the U.S. on a B1/B2 visitor visa.
👍Fact: No, all work is prohibited for B1/B2 visitor visa holders, even if the work is being done remotely for a foreign employer. If you are physically in the United States, you need work authorization to engage in productive work.

👎Myth: It’s no big deal if I work on my B-1/B2 tourist visa.
👍Fact: Wrong! Working without authorization can have severe consequences on your immigration status. Working on a tourist visa can result in the revocation of your current visa, refusal of future visas, and even denial of future entries into the United States.

“I knew him since he was a foal,” [Bendfeldt] said. “I sat on him once when he was 3, and it was like coming home. It took a whole village to get him here, and every day I’m so proud that I’m his trainer. Zoom is a little bit shy and very careful. He’s so loving. There’s not a bad bone in this horse. He just always wants to please you; he wants to do it right. I’m over the moon happy.”
