Last week the belt was earned by Connor. When it comes to work, this guy relishes in it. He’s constantly wanting to do the extra work it takes to continue trying to become the best he can be. A leader on the field in his words and actions. Connor is asked to do a lot. And he does whatever is asked of him…. And does it extremely well. Really great plays in the field, on the mound, and finally his bat came alive again. He expects a lot out of himself. He wants to do everything he can for his team and teammates. Connor bleeds Yorktown green. All over the field, he is focused and ready to battle. Great job Connor!

Last week, our belt was earned by Lyric. Lyric took the post behind the plate for the first time. He has been working on many different skills outside of practice. The kid is working to help his team in any way he can. Catching is the hardest and most grueling position on the field. Lyric did amazing in his first time in a game setting. All his hard work behind the scenes is certainly paying off. Can’t say enough about Lyric. He’s a player that is not only coachable, but he will do anything that is asked of him. His desire to be the best player he can be and the best teammate he can be is apparent. He definitely earned the belt. Great job Lyric!

The drawing for the liquor bundles is complete! The winners were chosen last night after our fall ball game. Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets and helped raise money toward our goal and this group of boys. Our success is because of you and we are so appreciative of all our families and fans do. We represent this community with pride and every ticket in this drawing is so appreciated. 440 tickets sold! Thank you.

The fire department has been bombarded with calls around the clock. Working long hours, serving the community, and doing it all for Yorktown during these trying times. Tonight, as a thank you for everything they are doing, the boys took some drinks, snacks, and supplies to them. Thank you from the Yorktown Tigers 10U team!

This was the top of the dugouts from the field we practice on. It was taken yesterday. The flooding is so bad. A field will be back. There is far worse. Our thoughts are with those who have lost so much and continue to struggle through this awful event.

The belt is back! Branden earned the belt this week. Being one of the new guys can be tough. But Branden has jumped right in with these boys. He’s really working hard learning new things, new ways of doing things, terminology, rules, and building that bond with the team. He’s making it look easy. He’s a great addition to this group. He’s worked hard and is already making an impact. Being coachable is so important. And Branden certainly is. He has a desire to work and continue improving. He’s been great in practice, and it translated on the mound today as well. He had a great couple innings out there. Super proud of him for earning this belt. Great job Branden!
