Mike and Debbie Armstrong enjoyed another beautiful sunrise and crappie trip this morning. Debbie let Mike swing at the big ones this morning and he caught another one over two pounds and several other nice size crappie. We only fished a few hours this morning and the slack winds made for a tough bite.

It was a very cool morning on Fork today and the crappie were ready to bite. Mike and Debbie Armstrong were ready for some action and it didn’t take Mike long before he boated a 2.01 crappie. We hit some deep trees I had found holding crappie on Sunday and Mike and Debbie took turns dropping jigs and minnows down to hungry fish. They will be back in my boat in the morning and we look forward to another great fishing day. Got to love this weather.

Good friend, Mike Perkins joined me this morning for a few hours of crappie fishing. The weather was perfect and the crappie bite was good. Looking forward to the approaching cool front tomorrow. Life is good on the lake!

The early morning cloud cover was just what the bass needed to make for a fun morning. Rowdy Starnes and I used a weightless minnow and a wacky worm to catch 17 bass this morning. No big ones today but the shallow bite is always a fun way to catch them.

Mike Clarke from AR helped me do a little crappie scouting yesterday and we kept a few for the grease. It was hard to see the crappie on the scope because so many Shad were around the brush piles. No wonder the black crappie are so finicky. They are full of threadfin shad.

Just as I had planned, the fish were where they were supposed to be and they were ready to bite. Carla Mason and daughter, Kenzie and Charlotte Misenheimer from Oklahoma City joined me on a beautiful fishing day. We started out shallow fishing grass with wacky worms and Jerk Minnows. We didn’t get any big bites but the girls enjoyed some shallow bass action. We then hit a couple of brush piles and caught a few crappie and bluegills. My next move was to head down the lake and get into some white bass action and that worked too. Before heading in at noon we stopped by another crappie pile and caught a few more. I saw a couple of big bass and we finally got them to bite. Kenzie caught a 6.78 lb personal best and we missed a couple more bites. The ladies fished hard and did a great being their first time on Lake Fork.

I hope the fish I found while scouting this morning will be ready to bite for my customers tomorrow. I found several brushpiles full of crappie and caught a couple out of each one and they were good size crappie. I then saw some bluegills on top of a brush pile and caught some of them. Then I checked out a sandbass point and they were hungry for a silver slab. I saw a bass near the whites and caught a 7.23 bass. Had a good scouting trip so hope to have a fun day for customers tomorrow .

This morning Robert Gaylor joined me for a few hours of crappie catching. He had asked me a few days ago if I had any extra crappie he would gladly take some. Told him he could jump in my boat and we would get him some to take home. We hit a couple of brush piles this morning and started catching them. The fall crappie bite will only get better and better and the weather will make for some enjoyable time on the water. Give me a call if you want to book a trip.

We were treated to a beautiful sunrise this morning and a two hour cloud cover in the East made for very pleasant morning. Richard Altman and I had another great trip on Welsh and he caught some real nice ones for Welsh. I love that lake.
