My name is Chantay Sammons, Tay to my family and friends. About one year ago, I borrowed a sewing machine to try and "upcycle" some old t-shirts. The pictures on this page are the result, in essence, of that day. This page has pictures of every rag quilt that I have made thus far. I use the front and back of each t-shirt and sew batting between the two pieces to make one block. After cutting and s
ewing blocks, I arrange them in an appealing order, sew blocks into rows, sew the rows together and finally snip to create the ragging. It's truly a labor of love creating these special blankets!!! I charge $4/t-shirt and the turn around time is approximately one week. Cotton t-shirts are best and toddler t-shirts are often too small. Please message me with any specific questions you may have. Thanks for looking at my page!! Update-Summer 2017: With our youngest graduating from high school, I find I have more free time and I am doing my best to keep busy. In the spirit of creativity, I decided to try a Lego Table idea from Pinterest. To date, I have made a total of 13 two-tiered tables for lego type building blocks. I have donated 3 of them and sold 5. I have 5 ready to go and I have orders for custom tables for Christmas gifts. Prices vary depending on the cost of the table.....I find them at thrift stores, consignment shops, yards sales and such, however, they range in price between $60 and $100. I REALLY enjoy making these so I thought I would add them to this page! Please feel free to share or tag anyone that you think may be interested and thanks for liking my page!!!
