PUBLIC STATEMENT
Good afternoon,
We would like to bring everyoneβs attention to an incident that occurred during Shenandoah County Fair Night #2.
Our son was competing in the Youth Full Size class. At no time were Cierra or Matthew Kingree involved in the inspection process for his vehicle. He received a cut list just as every other participant should, made the required cuts, and was cleared to compete in the show.
During the event, Cierra and Matthew stood off to the side and watched our son compete, just as any other parent would. We were later called away because there were a couple of incidents taking place that required our attention.
We want to make it absolutely clear that no child was disqualified from the event.
The passenger got out of the vehicle and began yelling at the officials. The passenger then instructed their child to get out of the driverβs seat, got into the driverβs seat themselves, and proceeded to drive the vehicle off the track in an unsafe manner.
After reviewing video footage, it was also determined that a passenger was making derogatory gestures toward other passengers and drivers.
We do not condone this type of behavior whatsoever. Disrespect toward officials, drivers, passengers, or anyone involved with the event is inappropriate and will not be tolerated.
Our goal has always been to provide a fun, fair, and safe environment for everyone, especially the kids who participate in our youth classes. We will continue to make decisions based on the rules, what our officials observe, and available video footage when necessary.
We appreciate everyone who continues to support our events and understand that there are often multiple sides to a situation. We encourage everyone to get the facts before making assumptions or spreading information that may not be accurate.
Thank you for your continued support.
