TSSO Members,

First of all, thank you for making Tournament Showcase Sports Officials one of the most respected and successful umpire groups in the state of Ga. Chuck, Steve, Michele and I are so proud of the group that we created years ago. As most of you know, Triple Crown Sports ran tournaments in Georgia through Tony VonDolteren. Tony took a full time position with Perfect Game as the Director of Tournaments for Youth Events at the beginning of 2019. Now, all of the formerly known TC tournaments are PG events. TravelBall Select, which was our other main customer, decided in February to breach our 2 year contract, by moving to another location and using another group. Legal action was considered and justifiable, but after seeing the minuscule size of their events in Georgia this year and the past, we’ve decided it wasn’t worth the time, effort, or money to pursue any further, though it shows a lot about the integrity of TBS and it’s owner. With all of this being said, TSSO is now fully committed to and joined forces with UmpNation Southeast. All of our members have already been moved over on Referee Schedule. The game fees have increased and there is no registration fee to worry about to get started. This will truly be better for all of our members moving forward. We will have the most games assigned within the state of Georgia and at one of the best rates. We had a great opening weekend despite weather issues combined with a small event. UmpNation Southeast is off and running for 2019 in GA. This coming weekend we will be very busy!! 94 teams are already confirmed and 34 others are accepted!! Please update your availability on Ref Schedule today, so we can get assignments out ASAP. Thanks for all you do!

Exciting news about the TSSO Kickoff Meeting on February 17th at Etowah High School at 3:00pm. Dan Iassogna and Marvin Hudson, both current MLB Umpires and both World Series Umpires will be guest speakers at our meeting. We look forward to seeing everyone there. This is the only meeting prior to the beginning of the season. We will have tons of useful information about the 2019 season. See you there!

TSSO FALL CAMP

August 25th and 26th Tournament Showcase Sports Officials is hosting our Annual Fall Camp. This is your opportunity to work live baseball with some of the top umpires in the world as instructors. Tuition is $50 and gets you two days of instruction during the Perfect Game Southeast Showcase at LakePoint Sporting Community, along with side cage and field mechanics work. This is an excellent opportunity for you to learn from some of the game’s best and further your career. Whether you’re looking to move up locally or advance into the professional or college ranks, this camp will help get you there.

As our summer draws to a close...All of us at TSSO would like to thank all of our umpires for a great spring and summer season of baseball. Our website has been updated with the fall schedule. We will also be finalizing our camp date, time and location by early next week. You guys have helped make us what we are today. Thank you again and enjoy the short break.

Shout out to Casey James and Tre Jester for making it to the Advanced Course this past week. Congrats and now it’s time the go get a job in MiLB. Again TSSO & Ump Nation puts 2 more umpires through school and a possibility of making it a career. We are pulling for you guys. Keep us posted.

Kickoff Meeting this Saturday at 2:00pm NorthStar Church - Kennesaw, GA. This is our only meeting so please attend. Season begins soon! If you know of anyone experienced or not, bring them along!
