So as most of you know, I’m a certified personal trainer, as well as an advisor on a fitness app. This is the end of the year, the time when everyone plans to “start” working out the beginning of next month as a resolution. My question is, why are you waiting? Don’t you owe it to yourself to give yourself the gift of better health? I took about 4 weeks off from the gym, and it was a huge mistake. Now I’m weaker, and further than I was from my goal 4 weeks ago. Kind of a mind f*%*k. It is what it is. But I’m back baby! Anyways, don’t wait until the first to get into better shape. LFG! Go big or go home! Twenty-two 45lb plates and one 10lb plate. Yes I’m that as***le that takes all the 45s in the gym, but I at least put them all back after my sets lol. Warmed up with 2 sets of 450lbs, 10 reps each before attempting this. Today was leg day, but the press wasn’t on the menu until I looked over at it, and it said “I’ll bet you won’t mfer”.

As promised, today is PROTEIN! Everyone’s favorite supplement, but one of THE most misunderstood as well. There’s so many different kinds, I’m not going to get into them all here. But I DO want to talk about Whey Protein Isolate, especially when it is low temp processed cross-flow micro-filtered. What that means is is the highest quality for post workout. What they does is help your body digest is faster so it can get to helping rebuild your muscles faster. The faster they get to rebuilding, the less sore you will be, as well as being in an anabolic state longer. Remember, you do t build muscle IN the gym, you build it afterwards by the Whole Foods and supplements you take in. There are so many kinds of whey powder out there, what’s the best? Well, I think I have tried almost every brand out there unfortunately. BUT the best that I have found is Phormula-1 by 1stPhorm. It is also hydrolyzed and predigested so it super easy on your stomach, so no more rock feeling in your guts, or rushing to the sh***er afterwords lol. And the taste? LFG!!! 1000lbs! Only got half a rep lol. But my working sets were 270, 360, 450, 630, then 720. 1k is mine next week! Anyways, today let’s talk about CARBS. Carbs are NOT evil! Your body absolutely needs carbohydrates. Your body uses it as fuel for those intense workout sessions, and also needs it post workout to replenish your glycogen stores in your muscles to help ignite that muscle growth we all want. They also spoke that insulin, in a good way, for maximum protein and nutrient assimilation. The best post workout are monosaccharides, your body can digest these the fastest, so your muscle can get to healing as fast as possible. I personally use Ignition from 1stPhorm, mixed into my protein shake. (We will talk protein tomorrow) I know that with Ignition I am going to be less sore than o would be if I don’t use it. I’ve used it long enough to know that it DRASTICALLY reduces my soreness the day after a heavy workout, which today was. Seriously, give this stuff a try, it is absolutely amazing!

As promised, the next three days will be on Calories, Protein, Carbs, and their importance. Today will be CALORIES!!!! Which is basically a unit of energy. I’m not going to go into the scientific bulls**t of it, but your body NEEDS calories to survive. They are ESSENTIAL for human health. How much you need depends on many factors, s*x, height, weight, activity level etc. if you want to lose weight, healthily, try aiming for 500 calories less than your Basic Metabolic Rate. Message me if you need help figuring that out. Try not go TOO much into a deficit, as body functions will go down if they don’t have the energy they need. Also, please, please please don’t do those extreme low calorie diets, yes you will lose weight, but putting your health is jeopardy is not worth it. Going OVER on your calories leads to one thing, weight gain. A good way to track your calories is with the . Most people don’t understand how many calories they are actually taking in until they start tracking. For a lot of people just starting to track what they eat starts their weight loss journey in the right direction. This kinda short because I’m limited on the amount of characters I can use. Today let’s discuss nutrition. I never realized how bad my nutrition was until I started keeping track of things in the . I thought I was doing so good lmao. I, was not. Whether you want to lose weight, gain muscle, or just plain ole get healthy, you HAVE to keep track. Protein, carbs, calories, all of it. Over the next three days I’ll go over why keeping track of each is important, so stay tuned. I want everyone to remember, that fitness is not about the destination, it’s about the journey. The journey to become better versions of ourselves. Please don’t get hung up on how fast you’re losing weight, or gaining muscle, or any of that other crap. You are making PROGRESS. That’s what is important. Good things will come, but only with hard work and perseverance. If you don’t put in the work, you won’t get the results you want. Lead from the front, and be the person that everyone looks up to. I know all that is easier said than done, but I have faith in all of you. Everyone working to better themselves can make this world a little less s**tty.
